Antonio Pierce has been very quiet since being fired by the Las Vegas Raiders. Based on the rumors that came out following the news, Pierce was fully expecting to return in 2025.
Considering the Raiders waited until after Black Monday to fire him, it appeared that the team at least considered bringing him back. Most NFL coaching staffs are now full but Pierce has not been able to land another job.
It's unclear what his contract situation was but he at least had two years so he'll get paid by the Raiders in 2025. Even if he takes the year off from coaching, it looks like he's going to stay busy.
Pierce and Arizona announced on Instagram on Saturday that the coach is going to be the keynote speaker at a coaching clinic for high school coaches in the Arizona area. Pierce played his college ball at Arizona so he has strong ties to the program.
NCAA regulations won't allow Pierce to coach at the college level for eight years but he can still speak at events. The coach hasn't said anything of note since being fired so it'll be interesting to see if he shares his side of the firing. Regardless, Pierce clearly wants to stay in the coaching world and this could be his first step toward getting back in the mix.
