WWHL host Andy Cohen confirmed that he had a conversation with Garcelle Beauvais before she made her announcement.
Andy Cohen is sharing new details about Garcelle Beauvais' decision to leave The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host discussed Garcelle's exit — which she said was so she could focus on her career and teenage sons — on the March 26 broadcast of his Sirius XM series, Andy Cohen Live.
"We had a serious conversation before she was on Watch What Happens Live," Andy said, referring to the actress' appearance on the March 18 episode. "She had a reunion that you will see play out and I’m not gonna — you’ll just watch it — but she didn’t, it was not, she ended in a not good place and she and I were texting and she kept saying, 'I will speak to you in New York.'"
"So, we got together about an hour before her live show and she and I really hashing things out," the dad of two continued. "And she let me into where her head was at, and there was not only stuff with the show, but she’s got, the kids are entering their senior year. And I really respect that fact that she really — it was one of the most real conversations that it ended where it ended — but I would say it ended with her saying, 'I’ve got to choose kind of my life.'"
Before Andy addressed Garcelle's exit on his radio show, he commended her RHOBH run on Instagram.
"An incredible run from an incredible human," he wrote underneath Garcelle's announcement post. "BRAVO."

Garcelle said in her original exit statement that Andy told her the door is always open for her to return to the show in the future. He doubled down on this assertion, explaining, "I was like, 'Look, call us in a year by the way if you feel like it. See where you’re at,'" he said.
Why did Garcelle Beauvais leave RHOBH?
In her announcement video, Garcelle explained that she wanted to leave the show to focus on her sons and her other career projects.
Speaking about her sons Jax and Jaid Nilon, Garcelle said, "Their last year of high school is next year and I want to be a part of that. And Jaid is starting a new career and I want to be a part of that too."
"Secondly, I have the most exciting projects that I am developing, producing, and acting in," she added in her statement. "I can't tell you anything right now, but you'll know soon."
"It's not goodbye, it's see you later," she concluded. "So, see you later."
