Andy Cohen has apologized to viewers after hosting his show, Watch What Happens Live, with a hoarse voice.
The TV personality hosted an episode on his popular show on Thursday, speaking with Real Housewives of Orange County stars Alexis Bellino, Katie Ginella, and John Janssen about their headline-making moments.
And while the reality stars were a draw for viewers, the state of Cohen's voice appeared to steal the show—prompting the host to issue a post-broadcast apology.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, after the show aired, Cohen wrote on the social media platform: "Sorry about my voice tonight folks. There's a first time for everything I guess. Hope it wasn't too painful to listen to."
Concluding his post, Cohen said that his guests would be veteran singer Cyndi Lauper and media personality and DJ Paris Hilton on Sunday night, adding: "I'll be in full voice!"
"You sound like Harvey," one X user commented, as they shared a GIF featuring actor, screenwriter and playwright Harvey Fierstein, who is known for his distinctive gravelly voice.
"I said that earlier lol," Real Housewives executive producer Cohen responded.
A host of other X users shared messages of support, with one writing: "No apologies needed, you're always perfect!"
Commented another: "Hope you feel better soon! Awesome job as always.
"Andy! We still love you no matter what," read another post.
Others shared some advice to aid Cohen's recovery. "Tea with honey and lemon this weekend," one suggested, while another chimed in: "Look into aniseed tea with honey in it. Does wonders."
While Cohen has welcomed some of the world's biggest stars onto his show, he has also made headlines over the years for his own on-camera moments.
As Cohen said goodbye to 2021 and ushered in 2022 for CNN's New Year's Eve Live, he told the viewers about what was going on behind him.
"If you look behind me, you'll see Ryan Seacrest's group of losers performing," he said, per Us Weekly. "I'm sorry but if you're watching ABC, you're watching nothing."
At the time, Cohen made headlines after it was suggested he'd "trashed" Seacrest.
"The only thing that I regret saying, is that I slammed the ABC broadcast and I really like Ryan Seacrest, and he's a great guy," Cohen said on his XFM radio show in early 2022. He added, "I was just stupid and drunk and feeling it."
The public perception of a feud between Cohen and Seacrest, who hosts Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve for ABC, was addressed during a September 10 episode of Watch What Happens Live.
"I don't even remember what the feud was about," Cohen told a laughing Seacrest. "But we did see each other this year. We did wave this year."
"We did do all of that," Seacrest agreed. "I just said are you going to be there this year. We will be, we will wave. We can't get to each other or we'd hug!"
"Everything's been good," added Seacrest, prompting Cohen to state: "I feel like the beef is squashed."
