ZARA McDermott has broken her silence on returning to Strictly Come Dancing to support pal Pete Wicks.

The former Love Island star, who now makes documentaries for the BBC, was seen in the ballroom on Saturday.Zara McDermott has broken her silence as she returned to Strictly

She cheered on Pete, 36, alongside her boyfriend Sam Thompson as performed with pro Jowita Przystał.

It comes after Zara spoke out earlier this year following Strictly star Graziano Di Prima being sacked from the show.

After last night's show, Zara has now posted about her comeback to fans online.

Sharing footage of Pete's dance, she said: "Such an incredible evening.

"What an amazing first performance and I'm so glad I could be there to support you!

"Didn't he smash this?!?!?!"

A probe by bosses into Giovanni Pernice's behaviour found that the pro dancer Graziano had kicked Zara in rehearsals.

We revealed in July that Graziano had been sacked after Strictly bosses were shown shocking footage.

The Italian, 30, was accused of hitting, spitting and kicking Zara during rehearsals for last year’s series.

He has since admitted to kicking her by mistake but branded other claims “vile and false”.

He said in a statement: “I deeply regret the events that led to my departure from Strictly.”
