“You can call us fame-hungry – but cruel, mafia-like threats should be considered crimes”: Paige DeSorbo breaks her silence, reveals the dark side of her relationship with Craig Conover - suong

In a recent exclusive interview, Paige DeSorbo – model, influencer, and star of Summer House – has bravely broken her long silence surrounding her three-year tumultuous relationship with Southern Charm’s Craig Conover. Her revelations not only shocked fans but also pulled back the curtain on the manipulation, hidden conflicts, and emotional strain she endured behind the glamor of reality television.

"You can call us fame-hungry, and that's not entirely wrong," Paige said bluntly. "But the cruel, mafia-like threats I’ve received — those should be considered crimes."

Speaking further on Summer House After Show, Paige opened up about how her perception of Craig shifted after their breakup. “I was really blind in that relationship,” she admitted. “I think I loved him so much that I tolerated too much. And now that I’m out of it and looking back, I’m like, ‘Oh, wait a second.’”

One of the most telling examples, Paige recalled, was that “whenever” she reached a personal or professional milestone, Craig would somehow “find a way to make it about him.” As a fashion influencer, Paige felt like she couldn’t fully enjoy her own success because she was constantly doing "damage control" behind the scenes. “That’s something I look back on now. I had to do so much damage control. It’s embarrassing.”

She also revealed that throughout their relationship, she often felt she had to hold back her voice. “I’m very direct and intense,” she explained, “and Craig would tell me, ‘You’re so harsh.’ So I would have to stay quieter whenever he shared his opinions. [Craig] would always take it as a personal attack.”

The pressure grew as Paige’s career – especially the massive success of her podcast Giggly Squad – began to affect their dynamic. “When I started having panic attacks this fall while doing the live Giggly Squad tour, he just thought it was because I was working too much. So that fed into his narrative: ‘Oh, you’re working too much, and you shouldn’t be doing all of this.’”

Although Paige stated she always felt like she could say whatever she wanted to Craig, the truth was that she often withheld major career breakthroughs from him. “There were times when big things were happening for me professionally. Did I tell him? No, absolutely not. Like, when I hit certain milestones — no, I wasn’t going to tell him. I knew he would want to be happy for me, but deep down, he wouldn’t be.”

Her candid reflections have sent shockwaves through their fanbase – many of whom once believed this couple proved that opposites could indeed attract. But with these revelations, the public is now faced with a much more sobering reality: even relationships that appear carefully curated and celebrated on screen can be plagued by imbalance, emotional suppression, and silent suffering.

In a world where fame is often earned at the cost of emotional freedom and authenticity, Paige DeSorbo’s story isn’t just another post-breakup drama — it’s a powerful reminder for anyone who has ever felt they had to "do damage control" for someone else in their own life.
