Wynne Evans supported by his girlfriend after furious Strictly fans blast his performance and judges’ scoring - suong

WYNNE Evans’ girlfriend has spoken out to support him after furious Strictly fans started to question his place on the show.

The singer, 52, took to the dancefloor last night to perform an American smooth to Grace Kelly by Mika alongside his pro Katya Jones.

Strictly viewers think Wynne was overmarked

His girlfriend Liz Brookes, 50, was on hand to support him once again and sharing a picture of them cuddled up, she defiantly wrote: "Knocks it out of the park again!"

The pair ended up getting 32 points, but those watching at home complained he had been overmarked.

One person raged: “Judges are sooo off the mark this series. Scoring and comments are completely nonsensical. Wynne is grossly overmarked- WHY?.”

A second said: “Even at 32 points Wynne has been overmarked again, and a 9?! Time to go PLEASE.”

While a third added: “Wynne being overmarked again.”

Throughout the show this year fans have accused the judges of favouritism towards Wynne after he repeatedly gets high scores.

And earlier in the series, Wynne faced scrutiny after a clip of Katya, 35, moving his hand from her waist during the live show was widely shared on social media.

The pair later addressed the incident, with Katya rigorously dismissing suggestions she was made to feel "uncomfortable or offended", describing claims as "total nonsense" in an It Takes Two interview.

She said she could not bear seeing him "portrayed as someone he is not" and said the whole thing was an "inside joke" between them.

The dancer added: "Was it a silly joke? Yes. Was it a bad joke? Yes."

Wynne later said Katya has taught him to be "more self-resilient" and not seek "validation from elsewhere".

Appearing on Strictly spin-off, It Takes Two to talk about his rumba in a previous week, he said: "I think every rumba is so different, and there's a different story to each one.

"It can be about love, it can be about jealousy. It's always about love, but there's so many different types of love.

"And this one is about love and starting to love yourself, which is something that I'm only just discovering, and something I'm learning so much from Katya on.

"Even though she's 20 years younger than me, she's teaching me how to be more self-resilient and how not to look for validation from elsewhere, to find that love from within."
