‘WWHL’: Captain Glenn Shephard Says Daisy Kelliher And Gary King Were “Struggling” After Their Dramatic Love Triangle

Daisy Kelliher and Gary King‘s boat-mance didn’t exactly end well — and according to their boss, Captain Glenn Shephard, they were “struggling” to work together when they returned for Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5.

Shephard appeared virtually on Monday night’s (Nov. 11) episode of Watch What Happens Live along with stew Danni Warren, who kissed King on a recent episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

Host Andy Cohen asked Shephard if he was at all worried about working with Kelliher and King again after their love triangle with former star Colin MacRae caused a lot of drama last charter season.

“I think they’re kind of struggling a bit but I think they’re getting through it,” Shephard said. “I think they’re rebuilding their friendship.”

Kelliher and King sparked a romance back in the show’s third season when they made out in a hot tub. But when they returned for Season 4, Kelliher hooked up with MacRae, while King set his eyes on stew Mads Herrera.

The chief stew’s relationship with MacRae fizzled out shortly after they wrapped filming, and her friendship with King came to a halt altogether.

Kelliher recently opened up to DECIDER about how the drama affected her mental space at the start of Season 5.

“I was actually fine for a long time and had put all the mess behind me,” she said. “However, we filmed the Season 4 reunion shortly before we started filming. The reunion was hard on all of us. I was upset with the way I was treated. That really explains why Gary and I came in so hot. It looks like I’ve been really angry for a year, and I wasn’t.”

King, for his part, shared a secret kiss with Warren a couple of episodes back. However, Warren told Cohen that she wouldn’t have done that had she known about his history with Kelliher.

“I honestly — I didn’t know. I didn’t really want to know,” she said. “I didn’t want to go to the boat with preconceived ideas of people. But I think yes, I would have not done it if I had known that much. But at the same time it happened. So, I mean, eh, like, it happened.”

Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
