Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Whitney Rose suggested that Lisa Barlow plays “strong offense” to “deflect from the truth.” She also wrote a cryptic post about people “exit[ing] your life” so “new people can enter.”
In a trailer for the upcoming season, Lisa told Whitney’s husband Justin that his wife is a liar. She also seemed to insinuate that Whitney wanted to be her.
During a recent interview for Us Weekly, Whitney was asked if any castmates had a hard time “telling the truth” this season.
“I think that there’s a couple people,” she answered. “Just remember this: the squeaky wheel always gets the grease. Whoever’s yelling the loudest is probably struggling the most. I think that sometimes people who are the loudest [in] accusing people of being liars are playing a really strong offense.”
She then hinted at “accusations” from the trailer.
“If you have to say that you’re not a liar, and if you have to accuse other people of lying, again you’re probably playing a very strong offense to deflect from the truth,” she said.
Whitney nodded her head after the interviewer guessed that she was alluding to Lisa. Whitney was later asked how soon into the season she and Lisa fell out.
“It was so quick that I didn’t even see it coming,” said Whitney. “It was one of those moments where I was mad at myself for forgetting who people really are and knowing the truth. Like when someone shows you who they are, believe them.”
She said she was mad at herself for “letting my guard down too soon with trust” and being “hopeful that things would be different.”
“I really thought that we were going to be back to being friends, but it’s a lot harder said than done when you have resentment and a grudge-holder,” she explained. “I’m just done pouring energy into meaningless relationships. If it’s a one-sided self-serving relationship, I want no business with that.”
Around the same time, Whitney shared a photo of herself with Angie Katsanevas and newbie Bronwyn Newport.
“Grateful for these women. Sometimes when people exit your life it’s so that new people can enter,” she wrote in the caption. “I am excited for you all to get to know these beautiful ladies next week on #rhoslc … P.S. Happy Be-lated Birthday [Bronwyn].”
Angie then commented, “The snowflakes and the huzzzzbandz❄️❄️❄️Love the pics. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Bronwyn.”
Bronwyn added, “You girls were so wonderful to take time to come celebrate my birthday! Wish everyone could have been in town! Excited for the rollercoaster to start this week.”
