The Vancouver Canucks like the New York Rangers will be looking to reshape the lineup in the hopes to find future postseason success soon. That could mean a new deal between the team and the Canucks could happen, as Alexis Lafreniere is one target for Patrik Allvin according to recent reports.

The Vancouver Canucks are seeking to improve the lineup in 2025-26, as free agency is upon us. After a season marked by disappointment and drama, Jim Rutherford and Patrik Allvin need a shift in direction.
That has started with the turnover of the coaching staff, as Adam Foote is now Head Coach in Vancouver, so soon after Rick Tocchet chose not to re-up with the Canucks.
Now, Allvin has been linked to a 57-point forward in the Rangers lineup who just hasn't had much luck after last season.
He scored 45 points this year, a disappointment after earning such a rich contract during his breakout year.
Lafreniere would provide the Canucks with another forward who can play on special-teams, like the power-play and has a potential the Rangers organization hasn't been able to fully tap into.
Before trading Lafreniere, Drury may have to sweeten the deal by retaining part of his $7.45 million salary. Not only would the return be greater by doing so, but it'd incentivize the deal to happen sooner if it does.
Drury is ready to be bold, and everything is on the table, according to Elliotte Friedman.
«The Rangers are considering an awful lot of things,» Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman said. «Like after the season they had last year, there are very few things that are off the table. Chris Drury has got a lot out there and he basically wants to know if you want to talk to them about something, just reach out because he's gotta know everything that's on the table for him.»
We'll see if his chaos brings order later down the road in October.
