It’s been a whirlwind for West Wilson since he joined the world of Bravo. When asked how he felt filming Summer House, he was extremely candid about his answer and called it a weird and sobering experience.
West joined Summer House during season 8 and quickly became a fan favorite on the show. However, he admits that adjusting to reality TV wasn’t as easy as he initially thought, and putting his most vulnerable moments on camera did not come easy to the sports journalist.
Initial shock and a warm welcome for West Wilson
West told OK! that when he started filming in the opulent Hamptons home, he focused on being himself. “I went in and didn’t try too hard,” he shared. “I was enough of myself to where I wasn’t super shy. It’s nice to have people receive who you are so well.”
And while it was generally not easy to go through life’s hurdles with an audience it was the first ten minutes in the house that were the most shocking for West.
“The first ten minutes, there’s no music; obviously, for audio. It’s very sobering,” he explained. “You walk in and it’s quiet, but you’re supposed to talk there’s all the cameras. I remember being like, ‘Wow, this is weird.’”
