West Wilson Opens Up About His Regret with Ciara Miller and Talks About Their Future, While Summer House Star Confronts Immaturity-quang

Summer House: West Wilson Shares Why He Was “Scared” to Commit to Ciara Wilson and Admits to Being “Immature” About Handling Split

As fans wonder who will make the cut for Summer House season nine, it seems some of the cast is still reeling from the reunion. In particular, West Wilson still has quite a bit to say about his performance on his first reunion as well as his failed romance with Ciara Miller.

Now, he’s admitting to being immature and discussing other issues that got in the way of him going the distance with his Summer House castmate.

As everyone knows, the reunion didn’t go well for West. Not only did he seem nervous, but he fumbled the questions surrounding why he broke up with Ciara. This led to many of his castmates chastising him for how he treated her. However, the online hate he got from fans may have been worse.

West recently appeared on The Viall Files and opened up a bit more about what led to him breaking up with Ciara. He says, via Reality Tea, “This is going to sound like a sh-tty excuse. I think compromise scares me a little bit. Operating with only my interests feels safe.”

He goes on to share how his past influences this feeling. He says, “Everything’s been straightforward [for my parents]. I’ve been fired, laid off, moved, f*cking done on a TV show. I’ve made massive life decisions only with my interest and not needing to put someone’s interests in play. [I didn’t] need to compromise.”

During the interview, West seems to somewhat agree with what Paige DeSorbo said at the reunion about him caring too much about what the public thought of him. He says that his parents have told him the same thing.

He says, “This is what my parents say. What they think my trauma is. They think … when I was young, I developed this habit of trying [please people].”

West goes on to say his parents believe he carried this need to please others into his adulthood.

According to US Weekly, West also admitted that his approach to dating may have been a bit immature. In particular, he brings up taking her to meet his family and not seeing it the same way she did.

West says, “There’s not a lot of weight in that to me. I know that it is a huge deal to Ciara, and I think that I was maybe a little selfish. It was selfish to bring her into that situation and f–king not be ready to go right away. I know that hurt her. … I wish I would’ve handled that differently.”

He also talks about breakups in general and says, “You’re either going to marry them or break up. And breakups make me so sad. Once that part of the relationship happens, I tense up.”

West also addressed his future with Ciara as he admitted that only “time will tell” what the future holds for them.

“I think we’re both committed to going separate ways,” said West, admitting that if they reunite for Summer House season nine, he will simply follow Ciara’s lead. “I’m going to be myself, and however that interaction goes, I will be respectful. Whatever her boundaries are, I’ll do that.”
