The Minnesota Vikings suffered a loss visiting the west coast on Thursday Night Football at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams but the interaction between the two NFC teams may not be done for the season.
Rumors have been swirling about potential Rams players being traded, and the Vikings have been linked to some of those rumblings. That led to Jeremy Fowler's report that Los Angeles is discussing a potential trade for cornerback Tre'Davious White.
Fowler's post on X prompted Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports to put together an article with potential landing spots for White if he were to be traded. The Minnesota Vikings were one of the teams on the list.
"The Rams saw firsthand on Thursday that Minnesota's corners aren't exactly answering the bell. So far, the Vikings are surrendering 263 passing yards per game, which is the third-most in the league."

Those numbers are skewed a little since the Vikings had leads in several of their games that forced opponents to pass. That is another reason Minnesota's run defense numbers weren't a great representation of the defense.
However, adding talent in the secondary is something that can't be overlooked. Over the last two weeks, Minnesota's defense has been vulnerable to opposing passing attacks. They gave up 280 passing yards to Jared Goff in Week 7 and 279 to Matthew Stafford on Thurday.
White is in his eighth NFL season and has been named to the Pro Bowl twice with one All-Pro First Team honor in 2019 and an All-Pro Second Team nod in 2020. He has only played in 14 games since the 2022 season, but has been a consistent defender since being chosen No. 27 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft out of LSU.
Currently on a one-year deal with the Rams worth $4.25 million, White could be another veteran presence to help run Brian Flores' defensive scheme in Minnesota. At 29 years old, he could also be an option to sign to a potential long-term extension.
The Minnesota Vikings may try to make some kind of move before the NFL trade deadline which could include trying to bolster their defense. Whether that is a cornerback like Tre'Davious White or a presence on the defensive line, it will be interesting to see if a deal can be made.
