Vikings QB JJ McCarthy Shares Update on Knee Injury Ahead of Cardinals Game
The Minnesota Vikings watched the Detroit Lions wrest a 23-20 victory from the hands of the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving, three days prior to their home matchup against Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
The Lions are now 11-1 on the season and setting the bar high for coach Kevin O'Connell's Vikings who are now a game and a half behind Detroit at 9-2 on the season.
The Vikings are expected to start Sam Darnold on Sunday against coach Jonathan Gannon's team after Darnold threw for 330 yards and two touchdowns against the Bears on November 24.
On Tuesday, Vikings rookie quarterback JJ McCarthy, who suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee during the preseason, spoke with former Michigan Wolverines and NFL tight end Jake Butt about his current health status following has second surgery earlier this month.

"First off, how are you doing, how's your health, if you can may give us an update, how's the knees doing?" Butt asked McCarthy, who called it a "special Tuesday" amid Michigan-Ohio State week.
"You know, the knee is doing fantastic, you know, on the road that they told me it was going to be on, which is up and down, upside-down, sideways, backwards, all the way around so, it's just...Going in there and having to get cut open wasn't great but, it's alright because, you know, it's all part of the process and you know, I'm in a good spot right now."
McCarthy threw for 188 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in preseason before suffering the injury.
