The Real Housewives of Orange County will be back for Season 18, and a press release for the show confirmed that legacy cast member Vicki Gunvalson will make appearances. So there's no better time to announce that Vicki's famous catchphrase is now on merch. Specifically, it's a stemless wine glass that says "Whoop it up!" that you can shop below. And no, you don't have to drink wine out of it. Because as Vicki herself will tell you, "a little bit of alcohol doesn't hurt," but the art of whooping it up is really about good friends, fun vibes, and (ideally) having a home in Mexico.
The RHOC icon has spoken to The Daily Dish before about what makes her want to whoop it up. She's also shared the advice she'd give RHOC fans who want to whoop it up for themselves. But where did her signature shout come from in the first place? Let's dive in.
We don't know for sure when she started to say it, but we can guess the why. A full-throated "Woohoo!" is cathartic. It's immensely satisfying. It shows how much you're enjoying yourself, and encourages others to do the same with abandon. The RHOC cast member has thrown her right arm up above her head and demonstrated the art of whooping it up at parties, over cocktails, on vacation, and in everyday life.

As for where the phrase literally came from? It's an expression of joy from deep within the soul. A true Vicki original. The sound a songbird makes, if that songbird were blonde, living in Orange County, and had been part of the first-ever cast of 'Wives.
