Rempe Roller coaster have a career with the Rangers since his entrance into the NHL late last year where he became a household name for several weeks with many fights with the NHL heavyweights.

De Haan thinks Rempe has been the most improved Ranger on the team

«I was honestly shocked. He's come a long way,» de Haan said on the Cam and Strick podcast. «And I might get some flack for this if some listeners are going to tell me he's the worst hockey player on planet earth, but he can make a pass, man. I mean, he works hard in practice. He works to get better religiously and it's definitely shown. Like from playing against him to being his teammate, like I was shocked. I mean he can move, too. Straight lines, man, he's f-ing going. He's not slow.» - Calvin De Haan

After his introduction into the NHL, and playing 17 playoff games, Rempe vowed to the fan base that he would spend his summer last year working on his game, improving his physique and learning how to fight as former NHL enforcer George Laraque lent his knowledge to help the young fighter know how to fight.
Early on this season, Rempe did not have the start he hoped for as he was called up repeatedly and sent back down to the Hartford Wolf Pack which many fans did not understand or felt that he was one of the worst players on the team.
He ended up playing 42 games this year, scoring three goals with five assists for eight points and was a + 7 well only averaging eight minutes and thirty seconds of ice time.
He almost matched his penalty minutes total from last year as he held 67 penalty minutes compared to 71 the previous year.

Future uncertain for Rempe with Sullivan's hiring

With the recent firing of Peter laviolette, questions remain and the future looks uncertain for Rempe as Mike Sullivan takes over the reins behind the bench and it remains to be seen on how Rempe could be used if re-signed.
Rempe completed his three-year deal holding a cap hit of $820,000 and is now a restricted free agent with no arbitration rights.
In all likelihood, the Rangers hold all the cards with his next deal and will likely sign him to another league minimum to see if this improved play will continue and could warrant him another deal in the future.
The Rangers will continue to evaluate their roster as many changes are projected to happen and the team will now focus on the upcoming NHL Entry Draft.
