Venita Aspen and Jarrett "JT" Thomas have always considered Charleston a walkable city, but the fact that the dynamic duo don't live a stone's throw away from each other anymore is much to their chagrin.
During Season 10, Episode 2 of Southern Charm, JT was spending some time in his new apartment when Venita stopped by to say hello and see the space.
“Wait, JT, it’s so cute,” she said before asking, “You don’t have any furniture?”
A real estate expert, JT instead decided to use the world "minimalist" to describe his empty living space.
After wandering out on the balcony (Venita called the view “insane”), they chatted about their newfound proximity to one another.
“I have to be honest, I’m a little devastated,” she said. “[Because] now we can’t be like, ‘Hey let’s get breakfast.' [Because] you can’t walk five minutes. Now you’ve got to get in the car, and drive, and park. Where you could just get up, walk, and knock knock, ‘Hey!’”
Still, JT wasn't fazed. In fact, he feels great about the move.
“I promise we can still grab some breakfast. I will make that drive with you,” JT answered.
In a confessional, he added, “My original apartment wasn’t bad, per se, but I did look down over a U-haul station. In the new apartment, the light glistens off the steeples of the whole city. It opens my soul. Like, what did I do to deserve this?”
What is Venita Aspen and JT Thomas's relationship status?
During Episode 1 of the season, Venita revealed that she and JT talk every day.
"The first time JT and I bonded was when we were in Jamaica," she said. "Ever since then, we talk every day, which is kind of wild to say. But I feel like we're just really close."
Trailers for Season 10 of Southern Charm show a deeper look at their bond, and their attraction is even mentioned in her official BravoTV.com bio.
"After breaking up with boyfriend Manny last year, Venita realizes that she and JT have an undeniable attraction and connection that goes deeper than most," it reads. "She starts to question her feelings toward him amidst preserving her own friendships with those he may not be on the best terms with."
Where does Venita Aspen live?
Venita lives in a gorgeous home in Charleston, which you can see in the video tour above. In 2022, she revealed a fun fact about the abode: it used to belong to Shep Rose.
However, the home has an entirely new look after Venita transformed it.
"I just wanted to be able to create the space and make it my own, and I feel like a lot of renters are afraid to actually do that, but you have to live here every single day," Venita told The Daily Dish in 2023. "Just find fun alternatives. My wallpaper is a big old sticker. It's not going to damage the walls. I definitely came in and transformed it and made it my little oasis."
