‘Vanderpump Rules’ Star Tom Schwartz Shares What He Thinks About Ex-Wife Katie Maloney’s Boyfriend

“Vanderpump Rules” star Tom Schwartz revealed that his relationship with his ex-wife, Katie Maloney, is better than ever when speaking with  E! News at the L.A. Art Show Opening Night on February 19. He also talked about meeting Maloney’s boyfriend, Nick Martin, for the first time.

“Me and Katie still have joint custody of Gordo and Butter, and she dropped the dogs off yesterday. But I met Nick, and he’s so cool, so down to earth, and obviously a rock star,” Schwartz said. “Listen, I love seeing her happy. She’s happy. I’m happy.”

So, what was his first impression of Martin?

“He’s a stud. I mean, he’s a rock star. Listen, Katie’s always dated musicians. I was an anomaly. I was an odd man out,” Schwartz explained. “I think I’m the only non-musician she’s ever dated/married twice. But I have nothing but love and respect for Katie and we’re on great terms. It feels good to say that. There’s no drama.”

Schwartz and Maloney were set up by former “Vanderpump Rules” costar Kristen Doute, and met and started dating in 2011. They got engaged in July 2015, and were married in August 2016. However, after 12 years together, the couple announced their split in March 2022.

They have remained close friends through it all.

Katie Maloney Publicly Announces Her New Relationship

During the October 16 episode of her podcast, “Disrespectfully,” Maloney announced that she was in a new relationship with Sleeping With Sirens guitarist Nick Martin.

“Yeah, I’m in love, everybody. Katie’s in love!” she said on the episode. “Yeah, I’m really happy.”

“He makes me feel really special,” she added. “And he’s really special.”

For 11 seasons, relationships grew while others were tested on Bravo’s hit show “Vanderpump Rules.” However, the network decided it was time for a change, so they are rebooting the show with a new cast.

But that doesn’t mean members of the original cast are no longer friends. When speaking with E! News, Schwartz also revealed where things stand with his former castmates. The original cast included Schwartz, Schenea Shay, Tom Sandoval, Katie Maloney, Ariana Madix, Lala Kent, and James Kennedy. Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, Stassi Schroeder, and Kristen Doute left after season 8.

“I think everyone’s taking a little time to just recalibrate and enjoy their peace and time apart,” Schwartz said. “I think there’s still a lot of love and respect among the cast mates, but regardless of what happens in the future, I think we needed a little break.”

“I see Schenea and Brock a lot. I text Lala a lot,” Schwartz added. “Yeah, I see Jax a lot. He’s my neighbor now.”
