James Kennedy is focusing on his health.
More than a month after the Vanderpump Rules alum was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence—for which he was not charged—James shared an update on his sobriety.
Alongside a selfie in all-black at the gym, he wrote on his Instagram Stories Jan. 28, "48 days sober."
The DJ's post comes days after his ex-girlfriend Ally Lewber announced they had broken up following the Dec. 10 altercation. After authorities arrived at a Los Angeles-area home, James was taken to a Burbank police station, where he later posted bail, according to the BPD. (The Burbank City Attorney's Office declined to file charges over the arrest.)
Ally, who dated the reality star for three years, shared insight into the events that led up to his arrest.
"We had an argument outside of his home related to him drinking again," she explained on her Instagram Stories Jan. 22. "However, I was not physically hurt."
She added, "We are no longer together, but I'll always support James and wish him the best with his sobriety and healing."
Meanwhile, James shared that he's been focused on personal improvement since the arrest.
"I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life," he wrote on his Instagram Stories in December. "I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for loved ones."
"Navigating challenging moments is not easy," the 32-year-old continued, "but I am determined to learn, grow, and move forward with the incredible support system around me."
The Bravo star, who previously discussed his relationship with sobriety on VPR, has been open about his journey. In fact, while celebrating his two-year milestone in May 2021, he reflected on his lifestyle change.

"My life has just gotten so much better from quitting drinking," he told E! News at the time. "I'm never hungover, I'm able to focus on my music so much more. My relationships and friendships are excelling. When I see these amazing things happening right before my eyes, why would I want to go back?"
However, after the explosive cheating scandal between his ex Rachel "Raquel" Leviss and Tom Sandoval—who was dating Ariana Madix—in March 2023, James shared that he relapsed.
"After two and a half years of not a single drop, I decided to drink again, have a couple of drinks," he said during the season 10 premiere of VPR in January 2023. "I thought I was getting married, I was engaged, do you know what I mean? After all I did to better myself, it still clearly wasn't enough."
