Trusted Insider drops a massive hint at who will become the New York Rangers Captain

Since the trade of Jacob Trouba, the New York Rangers remain without a captain. According to Jonny Lazarus of Daily Face Off, we could end up seeing the "C" pinned on a surprising candidate, Vinnie Trocheck! Will Chris Drury choose him as the next Rangers leader?Vinnie Trocheck and J.T. Miller

The New York Rangers are in the midst of a turnover in the lineup. In doing so, they traded Captain Jacob Trouba to the West Coast, and since then, the locker room has debatably collapsed.
Without a leader to gel around, the team looked directionless at times this season and needed a voice in the darkness to guide them to the light.

All signs point to Vincent Trocheck to be named the Rangers next captain

According to Jonny Lazarus of the Daily Face Off, that could turn out to be the Rangers' top-six center, Vinnie Trocheck.
Trocheck already has the characteristics of a leader on the ice, fighting important battles, and playing a steady two-way game.
In one quote, you can see how he's ready to step up to the plate and take leadership of the team:
«I want to be a part of the reason that we do right the ship,» Trocheck said on breakup day. «We don't have very many opportunities to win a Stanley Cup and that's the whole reason why everybody in this locker room plays the game. I'm looking forward to having this summer to figure things out. I have a lot of things in mind that we can work on and get better at. I do take responsibility for a lot of it.»

Trocheck while like his peers, had a down year under Head Coach Peter Laviolette made himself invaluable by taking on a natural leadership role instead of letting a vacuum form in the locker room.
It seems only right that Trocheck himself earn that "C" patch and give the team the direction needed to be successful again.
Trocheck has 4 years remaining of his 7-year, $39.38 million contract.
He scored 59 points (26-33) in 82 games with the New York Rangers this season.
