Troubling news surfaces for the Rangers as Frank Seravalli reveals Vladislav Gavrikov's asking price

The New York Rangers will have to consider their options should they trade RFA defenseman K'Andre Miller. One of those could end up being pending UFA and Los Angeles Kings defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov, as reports confirm the Rangers are one of the few teams on his list of destinations.Vladislav Gavrikov

According to reports from NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, the Rangers may be one of the few teams on the list for whom defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov would exit the Kings organization.
«Among left shots, Vladislav Gavrikov is not believed to have a long list of places he wants to go if he leaves Los Angeles, which is why so many are pointing to the Rangers,» Friedman wrote.

Which looks like the parts could be in play, as the team was reportedly in the works to clear cap space in order to sign the veteran Kings defenseman, according to reports, and now Insider Frank Seravalli has just revealed what Gavrikov's next contract could look like.

As it stands now, the Rangers have $13.1 million in salary cap space left and still have a plethora of moves to complete the ongoing retool in 2025. However Seravalli just revealed that Gavrikov who is 29-years old is expected to land a 7-year contract at almost 8 million per.
"Frank Seravalli: The Vladislav Gavrikov contract is probably coming in at 7 years at almost 8 million per - DFO Rundown"

Which would mean the New York Rangers must clear up some more cap space in order to land him, as they still have a few pending free agents to deal with.
In 82 games this season, Vladislav Gavrikov scored a total of 30 points (5-25) with the Kings and played a significant amount of time with top defenseman Drew Doughty. So adding him to the Rangers roster would certainly be beneficial if GM Chris Drury could somehow managed to match his asking price.
