TOWIE: Lauren Goodger speaks out on ‘awkward’ Carol Wright moment - suong

As if TOWIE has been on telly for fifteen years; if the reality TV show was a person they would be getting ready to start college right about now. Season 36 returns to our screen Sunday 17 August 2025 with the official Instagram account posting an array of BTS scenes and cast interviews ahead of the launch.

The latest stars to feature on the TOWIE grid are OG gals, Lauren Goodger and Amy Childs, who not only chatted about the upcoming series, but also took a look back at past moments from the show.

From Lauren telling Amy she started the vajazzle trend - which she one hundred percent did - to seeing a baby Harry Derbidge and Amy talk about India, the two reflected on their most iconic scenes.

The OGs were also shown the unforgettable moment Lauren bumped into Carol Wright (mum of Mark Wright, Laurens' ex) in a supermarket and it's still just as uncomfortable all these years later.

'That is so funny,' Lauren grinned as she watched the viral interaction unwind.

'It's so awkward but you're just, like, "Oh my God, I've got to watch it,"' Amy laughed with Lauren agreeing.

It's a moment all TOWIE fans remember as at that time, Lauren was in an on/off relationship with Mark and feuding with Sam Faiers. Carol took it upon herself to inform Lauren that Sam was coming around for dinner, leaving Lauren blindsided and wondering if Sam was dating Mark behind her back.

'It's so awkward,' Lauren confirmed, 'I see this clip all the time.'

TOWIE will be aired twice a week from now on, on Sunday and Monday and the new season is set to be equal parts dramatic and chaotic.

So just a regular weekday for the lads and ladies of Essex, then.
