Reality TV fans, if you need another dose of drama in your life now that a certain ITV2 dating show has finished then fear not as TOWIE returns to our screens this Sunday (17 August) and we can assure you that it more than delivers the explosive messiness that we so desperately need in our lives right now.
As well as the fallout from Ella Rae Wise and Dan Edgar’s split, the breakdown of Elma Pazar’s relationship with Sammy Root and a brewing feud between Saffron Lempriere and Chloe Meadows, the recently released series 36 trailer also sees Freddie Bentley involved in some serious agg with Jordan Brook – which is probably why he recently told Closer that there’s a big ‘divide’ between the cast.
When we caught up with Essex OG Amy Childs (one of only three remaining original TOWIE cast members, alongside Lauren Goodger and Harry Derbidge) at ITV HQ, we had to get her thoughts on the apparent cast rift and she didn’t hold back.

‘I’m going to speak for myself, with me and Freddie, there’s no divide for me and all of the cast. I get on with everyone, I’m like the mum of the group. I’m the old girl, shall I just say, the old one,’ Amy told us.
She continued, ‘Listen, there’s two people I obviously don’t see eye to eye with, which is understandable. I’m not going to say their names, I don’t want to promote them, however, I get on with all the cast and, for me, there’s no divide there because we’ve got a lovely group. I love Girl Band, I love all the others, just [not] them two.’
It doesn’t take a genius to work out that she’s talking about her cousin Harry Derbidge ex-boyfriend Joe Blackman and his current fella Junaid Ahmed, who Amy and her fiancé Billy Delbosq rowed with last series.

According to fellow cast members Becks Bloomberg and Livvy Jay, Joe and Junaid didn’t do themselves any favours on the cast’s recent trip to Portgual. In a video recently posted to the official TOWIE Instagram account, they teased that it could ‘kick off’ between former pals Junaid and Harry.
‘I defo, defo think it’s going to kick off with Harry and Junaid at some point. I feel like that’s brewing, yeah,’ Becks said.
She continued, ‘Junaid and Joe, love them to the death, bless them, but they do love the gossip about people when they’re not in the room. It’s very awkward for me.
‘I just sometimes feel like they need to keep their mouths shut a little bit because it’s just causing more and more problems. They say they want to come back and be friends with everyone, but then they do the other and talk about people behind their backs, which is really a no-go.’
