Tom Schwartz Reveals the Inside Scoop on the Current Relationships Within the 'Vanderpump Rules' Cast - lulu

Vanderpump Rules Cast

Following Season 11 of “Vanderpump Rules,” Bravo decided that it was time to reboot the show with a new cast. So, where does that leave the original cast?

When speaking with E! News at the L.A. Art Show Opening Night on February 19, Tom Schwartz revealed where things stand with his former castmates.

“I think everyone’s taking a little time to just recalibrate and enjoy their peace and time apart,” Schwartz said. “I think there’s still a lot of love and respect among the cast mates, but regardless of what happens in the future, I think we needed a little break.”

Along with Schwartz, the original cast included Schenea Shay, Tom Sandoval, Katie Maloney, Ariana Madix, Lala Kent, and James Kennedy. Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, Stassi Schroeder, and Kristen Doute left after season 8.

“I see Schenea and Brock a lot. I text Lala a lot,” Schwartz added. “Yeah, I see Jax a lot. He’s my neighbor now.”

Notably missing from Schwartz’s list was Sandoval. Throughout the show, the two remained best friends and even became business partners. However, following ‘Scandoval,’ where Madix discovered that her boyfriend of nine years was cheating on her with one of her best friends, the dynamics shifted and it was hard for the cast to film with one another.

Tom Schwartz Could Still Make Appearances in ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Reboot

Lisa Vanderpump told Parade magazine in December 2024 that she’s hopeful Schwartz will make appearances on the show despite an entirely new cast.

“I would like to see Tom Schwartz more involved in TomTom again. I think that is a brand that maybe we could develop,” Vanderpump said.

She teased that along with SUR, they could also film at TomTom.

Katie Maloney Reveals What Her Mindset Was About ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Season 11

Even before Bravo announced that they were going to do a “Vanderpump Rules” reboot, one of the original cast members was done.

Katie Maloney had been on the show for 11 seasons, but because of all the drama over the years, it was going to be hard for everyone to be authentic.

“I was very much, especially after the last season, done with the show,” Maloney told Harry Jowsey on the “Boyfriend Material” podcast. “I mean, it was 11 seasons. That’s a long time to be on a show, and I never thought that I would get to the point where I wanted to walk away, but so many relationships were damaged beyond repair, and I just was like, ‘How can I realistically, in an authentic way, kiki with these people ever again? I can’t.’”

“It would be so fake and phony,” she added. “And the whole premise of the show is like a group of friends that travels together and hangs out and fights sometimes, but like, it just got so dark. But then they decided not to bring us back anyway, so it worked out for everybody.”
