Tom Brady played quarterback for the Michigan Wolverines from 1996 to 1999, passing for nearly 5,000 yards and 30 touchdowns while leading coach Lloyd Carr's team to the 2000 Orange Bowl championship.
Brady's willingness to tutor young quarterbacks including former Wolverines College Football Playoffs participant Cade McNamara and Colorado star Shedeur Sanders is legendary.
On Wednesday, Michigan incoming freshman quarterback and the nation's top high school football recruit for the Class of 2025, Bryce Underwood, shared his thoughts on a wide range of topics including what Brady told him during a Facetime call on his phone that made Eisen's studio mates laugh out loud.
"I was in the backseat of my mom's car...Why wasn't I driving?" Underwood said, setting the scene.
"We were...I don't know where we were going or anything like that. All I know is I was in the backseat, and I was in the middle, and, all I get is a call from a 305 number, it was random. I'm like, I don't know anybody from Miami, at all," he added.
"So, I answer, big white teeth on the phone," he continued.
"It was confusing...I didn't now what to say. I had to act like I already knew he was going to call," Underwood added, causing the studio to erupt in laughter.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion Brady, formerly of the Wolverines, New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, revealed his expectations for Underwood's playing career in a spirited message.
"So, and then, the conversation just kicked off and everything, he was just telling me how excited I was for my future, honestly, so, it was just a blessing to have him on the phone, one of the greatest of all-time."
