Tom Brady and the New England Patriots accomplished more during their 20-year run than any single franchise has accomplished in their entire history.
Even given that fact, it was far from perfect and there were issues going on behind the scenes that we as fans would not find out until much later.
During an appearance on 'The Pivot' podcast, Brady was asked if he had any regrets from his career, and he shared one that was a bit of a bummer, saying essentially that he wished he had more fun.
"When I see these young players, I see like Patrick [Mahomes] out there at quarterback, running around, laughing, having fun, I'm like, 'I used to be like that!' I just got too serious, but, again, I can only look back and think, 'Okay, if I do it again, which I'll never do it again, I would be different.' But the reality is, you can't," Brady said.
The GOAT went on the even share the fact that later in his career, he preferred practices to games.
"When I got older, I would enjoy practice more than the games because I felt like I had such high expectation in the game," Brady said. In practice, no one was watching. I could have a little more fun. I could be a little more lighter. Even when I look at myself later in my career, I had this face — it was a scowl — all the time. It was me just being super self-critical."
While Brady surely wouldn't trade any part of his career for anything, it's fascinating to hear him self-reflect on what he wishes he had done differently.
