The Baltimore Ravens rolled the Pittsburgh Steelers in a decisive 34-17 victory on Saturday, but it was a statement from Tom Brady during the game that turned heads during the matchup.
With the win, the Ravens surged into a tie for the top spot in the AFC North alongside the Steelers. Their dominant ground game has propelled them to an impressive 10-5 record.
It was more of the same from the Ravens on Saturday, piling up 220 rushing yards. Derrick Henry did most of the heavy lifting, notching 162 yards on 24 carries.
The Ravens opened the season with back-to-back losses against the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders. However, with reigning MVP Lamar Jackson at the helm, they quickly reasserted themselves as legitimate playoff contenders, maintaining that perception throughout much of the season.
That's why many were surprised when Brady labeled the Ravens as "sleeping giants" during the Fox broadcast against the Steelers.
"Brady was calling the Ravens sleeping giants. Feel like they’re just giant. Zero napping," one fan said.
Another added: "'Tom Brady discussing the Ravens as if nobody thinks they are a good team is...amusing? C'mon Tom, they aren't under the radar?"
The Ravens have secured a postseason berth in five of the last six seasons, falling just short of the Super Bowl with a tough loss in last year's AFC Championship.
"Ok Brady, the Ravens are not a sleeping giant lmao," another fan added.
The Ravens locked up a playoff berth with the win against the Steelers. Baltimore has two games remaining against the Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns.
