Tom Brady Faces Backlash Amid Raiders Head Coaching Search - suong

The Las Vegas Raiders will enter a new era in 2025 after the team fired head coach Antonio Pierce and general manager Tom Telesco.

One interesting development from their head coaching search is that reports suggest limited owner and current Fox Sports analyst Tom Brady would be helping team owner Mark Davis in the hiring process.

On Saturday, Ian Rapoport revealed that Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has become a target for the Raiders and that Brady is a big reason why.

"The presence of Tom Brady has loomed large," he said. "Brady actually spent about an hour with his agent, just talking things over, essentially recruiting Ben Johnson, giving him an idea of what Las Vegas would be like."

Fans now feel that Brady's role in the Raiders' head coach search is directly interfering with his position as a broadcaster, which requires extreme objectivity and no favoritism.

"Respectfully - why is he allowed to call games? There's a clear bias here because he's a minority owner. How is this acceptable?" said one comment on X.

"Brady should quit being a broadcaster if he's going to be recruiting coaches," said another.

"How can Brady objectively call any Lions games for FOX this postseason at a gajillion dollars a year? He’s mediocre at best in the booth. Get Olsen back in the A-team. End the charade," a third added.

A fourth stated, "Tom Brady @TB12 to resign from Fox Sports immediately. He clearly can’t be an objective analyst and a competitive owner at the same time. He definitely has access that other owners don’t."

"Tom Brady shouldn’t be doing the Fox games," a fifth continued.

"Yet this man is still allowed in the broadcast booth Ok then," another said.

However, because of his unique role as an owner and analyst, he must follow a strict set of rules when interacting with the 31 other teams in the NFL.

That includes not being allowed to attend pregame production meetings, other team facilities, practices and cannot publicly criticize officials or other organizations. He is also being subject to the NFL's gambling and anti-tampering policy.

If any of these rules are found to have been broken during Brady's help in finding a new Raiders head coach, there could be consequences.
