Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens set social media ablaze on Wednesday when he posted a photo of himself standing next to Las Vegas Raiders minority owner and future Pro Football Hall of Famer Tom Brady.
Pickens, who has been the subject of trade rumors all offseason, might have tipped his hand as to where he would like to go next. At least it's the conclusion some fans are jumping to when viewing the story on Instagram.
There are other conclusions which can be drawn from the photo. It could just be Pickens taking a photo opportunity with one of the best football players to ever play the game. It could really mean just about anything.
The Raiders just traded for quarterback Geno Smith last month. Brady would love to find him another long, speedy receiver to pair him up with. Raiders fans are getting excited about the possibility, while Steelers fans are just looking at it as a photo opp.
"Oh Boy: George Pickens posted a picture of him and the legendary Tom Brady on IG
"Brady is one of the owners of the Raiders...
Is Pickens hinting at a potential change??" Dov Kleiman added to the conversation.
It is no secret the Steelers have been shopping Pickens and it does not look like he will be welcomed back to Pittsburgh after the season. The Steelers trade for D.K. Metcalf could make Pickens expendable under the right circumstances.
Metcalf signed a five-year, $150 million extension when he was traded to the Steelers. The Rooney family might not want to have a Cincinnati Bengals situation on their hands where they are paying the King's Ransom for two superstar receivers.
