Thomas Ravenel Drops Shocking Revelation: Son Diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Accuses Kathryn Dennis of Substance Abuse in Southern Charm Custody Battle - lulu

Southern Charm's Thomas Ravenel claims son, 5, has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome due to Kathryn Dennis' 'drug and alcohol use' | The US Sun

Thomas Ravenel is accusing ex-girlfriend Kathryn Dennis of endangering their son, Saint, with her past behavior.

In the shocking court filing, made amid Thomas’ ongoing custody battle with his former partner, the former Southern Charm star is alleging that their son, Saint, 5, was previously diagnosed with fetal alcohol syndrome due to Kathryn’s “drug and alcohol consumption” while she was pregnant.

In public South Carolina court records, obtained by The Sun, Thomas alleged that Saint was “formerly diagnosed with FAS due to Kathryn’s excessive drug and alcohol consumption while he was in utero.” He also claimed that Saint took “speech and occupational therapy for years to help combat his delays, but he is still falling behind at school.”

Thomas also stated that in order for Saint to catch up to the other students at school, his teacher created separate “Mom” and “Dad” folders for worksheets for Saint to complete every day and that the “Mom” folder has “never been touched.”

The former politician also noted in the filing that Saint will begin therapy again on December 11 at school and provided an email update from the teacher who called the five-year-old “such a sweet boy and a joy to have in class.”

Kathryn reportedly did not address Thomas’ claims about their son being formally diagnosed with FAS or comment on the idea that she didn’t help the boy complete school worksheets in her court response.

Thomas and Kathryn have been embroiled in a nasty custody battle for some time. They settled their dispute last November — a year after Kathryn filed for sole custody of their children. As Southern Charm fans may recall, Kathryn requested sole custody after Thomas was arrested on charges related to the assault of their children’s former nanny, Dawn. Thomas ultimately pled guilty to third-degree assault and battery and was able to avoid spending time behind bars.

After Kathryn and Thomas’ battle was settled last year, Thomas was granted primary custody of the kids and it was noted that Kathryn would be assisted by a nanny during her time with Kensington and Saint Julien, paid for by Thomas.

Thomas’ claims of Kathryn’s excessive drinking and drug use were also backed up by Kathryn’s former ex, Joseph Abruzzo, who testified in court about Kathryn’s alleged neglectful parenting and drinking habits.
