Thomas Ravenel is a single man once again as he and his fiancée, Heather Mascoe, have called it quits after three years together.

The Southern Charm alum, 59, confirmed their split in a statement on Wednesday before explaining that he and Heather, 39, plan to concentrate on co-parenting their one-year-old son, Jonathan Jackson.

“The engagement is over. Our friendship is the best it’s ever been but we’re ending our engagement to focus on our children.” he shared with All About The Tea. “After careful thought and prayer, Heather and I have decided to end our engagement. We will continue to be the best of friends and co-parents and have the greatest respect for one another as we embark upon this new chapter of our lives, individually.”

According to a source close to the former couple, the renovations taking place at Thomas’ Aiken, South Carolina, home have been a major source of contention for the pair.

“Thomas and Heather clashed over the design of his Aiken house,” the insider spilled. “They argued over every detail of the renovation. She wanted to make every room a playroom for the kids. She tried to take over the design.”

The source added, “That, along with them being incompatible as a couple, led to the breakup…they’re better off as friends. They had broken up before Heather’s pregnancy, then got back together for their son and tried to make things work.”

Following the birth of his third child, and Heather’s first, he praised the registered nurse, calling her a “perfect” mother in a since-deleted tweet. Then, months later, he popped the question, and they subsequently moved out of Charleston and into his Aiken mansion.

As fans well know, the breakup comes amid Thomas’ messy custody battle with the mother of his first two children, Kathryn Dennis. The businessman was awarded temporary primary custody of Kensie, 6, and Saint, 4, earlier this year after accusing Kathryn of drug abuse and neglect.

Kathryn denied any drug use at the time, and she offered to take a drug test as long as Thomas paid for the screening and agreed to take one as well.

Then, earlier this month, the 30-year-old slammed the “exhausting” family court system by sharing a telling quote to her Instagram Story.

“It is exhausting to constantly defend yourself against someone who is trying to change reality – it can even make you question what you know happened, or what is true,” the quote read.

“It can be exhausting to live two lives: one for your children and one for the world (everything is fine) and the other, where you are beaten down by the family court system. We see you and we stand with you. You are not alone,” the message concluded.
