The Valley season 2 premiere ratings down by nearly 40% from last year’s first episode despite Jax and Brittany divorce - lulu

THE Valley’s season 2 premiere ratings have plummeted nearly 40% from last year’s first episode, The U.S. Sun can reveal.

Despite Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s tumultuous divorce playing out on the Bravo show’s sophomore season, viewership drastically dropped from the numbers they raked in during 2024.

The Valley season 2 premiere aired on Tuesday, April 15th - just one year after the show first debuted on Bravo in March 2024.

The first episode of season 2 brought in 487,000 viewers the night it aired, according to Nielsen ratings records obtained by The U.S. Sun.

In comparison, the first episode of season 1 had 786,000 people tuning in - nearly 40% more than the fans who came back for round two.

To make the blow even harsher, The Valley season 2 premiere had a strong show leading into it to help with ratings, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

On Tuesday, RHOBH aired its explosive part 3 finale of their reunion which brought in just under 1 million viewers.

The show led directly into The Valley premiere, meaning over half of the fans who watched the RHOBH reunion actively shut off their TVs when the Vanderpump Rules spinoff came on.

Viewership is expected to increase in the coming days as the majority of fans now watch the series on Bravo’s streaming platform, Peacock - which is also owned by parent company NBCUniversal.

The decline in ratings may come as a surprise to most as this season features some of the wildest drama the cast has ever brought to TV screens.

Season two will follow the end of Jax’s marriage to Brittany - which fans first saw blossom on Vanderpump Rules.

Along with the end of their relationship, season 2 will also show Jax struggling with substance abuse and entering rehab for addiction.

Despite how difficult things appear to be on the show - Brittany, 36, recently claimed that life with Jax, 45, is actually “a lot worse” than people can imagine.

“Things are a lot worse than people think. Just the controlling aspect of everything — wanting to know where I’m at, what I’m doing 24/7.

“You’ll see throughout the season. … They’re gonna be like, ‘Wow. She went through all of this?’

“And just because he is trying to be a better person doesn’t mean that it’s actually better,” the Kentucky native told UsWeekly.

A source told The U.S. Sun that Jax is "terrified" about his past actions airing for fans and is worried about what people will think of him when they see his behavior.

“Jax has been trying to rally his Vanderpump and Valley costars to his side these past few weeks so they are publicly supportive of him when the season airs.

“He knows what's coming for him is bad, worse than anything he's ever done and Jax is f**king terrified of fans seeing this new season,” a source told The U.S. Sun.

The insider added: ”Whatever fans think they’re going to see - his behavior is worse.

“And most of it is caught on camera, the rest is talked about. A lot of viewers will never forgive him for his behavior and he knows that.

“He’s pulling out all the stops to save his career and is in panic mode.

“At this point, it's basically turned into girls vs boys, with some of the men taking Jax’s side but all of the women supporting Brittany.”

Last Summer following his troubling actions, Jax was allegedly forced into treatment to keep his job, The U.S. Sun exclusively reported in November.

After his stint in rehab, Jax revealed he was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD.

He revealed his main motivation to get sober was for his four-year-old son, Cruz, whom he shares with his estranged wife.
