The Truth Behind Kenya Moore's RHOA Exit: Has the 5-Figure Tax Debt Been Settled?

Kenya Moore Settled 5-Figure Tax Bill Before Controversial RHOA Exit.

Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore quietly paid off a five-figure tax bill just weeks before she publicly addressed her controversial departure from the Bravo series.

Kenya Moore’s Tax Issues Resurface

According to official records obtained by Lawyer Monthly, Fulton County, Georgia, released a tax lien against Kenya, 53, on September 16, 2024. The lien, originally filed in early 2024, accused the reality star of owing $14,139.55 in unpaid taxes from 2023, plus $562 in interest, bringing the total to $14,711.80.

The debt was tied to Kenya’s 6,500-square-foot, five-bedroom, six-bathroom home in Sandy Springs, Georgia. She purchased the property for $515,000 in 2015 and later renovated it.

This wasn’t Kenya’s first tax-related issue—back in 2018, she was hit with a $150,000 tax lien over her 2016 tax bill. That lien was eventually settled months later.

Kenya Moore’s RHOA Suspension and Exit

Kenya’s financial troubles coincided with her headline-making exit from RHOA. In June 2024, Page Six reported that Bravo producers suspended Kenya indefinitely following an incident involving new cast member Brittany Eady.

Kenya was accused of showing explicit photos of Brittany at a cast event. At the time, Kenya took to social media to defend herself, writing:

“Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see. The truth always comes to light.”

She added:

“I would never engage in revenge porn. I have never distributed private images or footage of anyone, nor solicited images owned by others to use to threaten or blackmail. I have always been vindicated.”

Brittany, however, shared a different perspective, writing on social media:

“It’s never a good feeling being targeted or HAZED by someone I thought would embrace me into a new circle, that I never met.”

Kenya Breaks Silence on Departure

During an interview with Tamron Hall, Kenya shared her side of the story, claiming that the new cast member had been “poking” her to make a name for herself. She described the incident as escalating, saying:

“The young lady escalated to the point of tearing off mics, screaming all kind of obscenities at me and threatening me.”

Kenya also revealed that she felt unsafe, adding:

“I don’t take threats or the way that I felt — you can’t invalidate my feelings. It was a real concern for me. I’m a single mom with a beautiful child that if anything happened to me, no one would be there for her.”

She admitted to looking into Brittany’s past and finding explicit material but now regrets escalating the situation:

“If I could do it all over again — I believe the photos were very distasteful and I elevated the situation. I’m taking full accountability for the thing that I’ve done. I am sorry for what I’ve done.”

What’s Next for Kenya Moore?

Following her suspension, Kenya will not return to RHOA and is reportedly considering legal action against Bravo.

With her tax issues resolved and her reality TV career uncertain, Kenya’s next move remains unclear. However, one thing is certain—her departure from RHOA marks the end of an era for one of the show’s most talked-about stars.
