The Traitors abruptly halts filming new season featuring Donna Kelce and Lisa Rinna for tragic reason

FILMING for the new season of The Traitors has abruptly come to a halt.

Season 4, which features Donna Kelce and Lisa Rinna in the cast, has been stalled for a very tragic reason.

The same as the UK version, the The Traitors US is filmed in a Scottish castle.

It's now been revealed how producers have agreed to halt filming of the new series - which is hosted by Alan Cumming - in order to allow a grieving family to hold a funeral service at a Highland church.

The church is located near to Ardross Castle where the show is filmed.

The son of the woman who has passed away took to social media after being told the earliest they could have access to Ardross Ark – which also features on the show – would be July 1.

He added that this was “far too long to wait to say our final farewell to Mam”.

The man also said: “My mother has lived in Ardross for 72 years. For my mother to be denied the right to have her final farewell to Ardross in her local church is nothing less than a disgrace.”

But now the volunteer-run church has agreed to halt filming temporarily, after the local man contacted the Traitors production team.

The grieving son said: “I would like to thank them for their understanding and allowing us to use the church.”

The trustees of the church said: “The situation has now been resolved. The funeral service will take place on June 27.”

Meanwhile, fans can't wait for new season of The Traitors to start.

The cast for season 4 includes a mix of reality TV personalities and public figures.

The Sun were first to reveal that former Love Island USA Aftersun host Maura Higgins had been snapped up for the show.

The Irish beauty - who appeared in the fifth season of the UK's Love Island UK - will appear alongside Real Housewives legends Lisa Rinna, Porsha Williams, Dorinda Medley and Candiace Bassett.

Also in the line-up are Travis Kelce’s mum Donna Kelce, Big Brother stars Ian Terry and Tiffany Mitchell, and Survivor favourites Rob Cesternino and Yam Yam Arocho.

They’ll be joined by The Amazing Race winner Natalie Anderson, The Bachelor’s Colton Underwood, Dancing with the Stars pro Mark Ballas, RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Monét X Change, figure skater Johnny Weir, and singer Eric Nam.

A source previously told us: “Maura is becoming a huge star across the pond and her slot on The Traitors is just part of that. 

“The future is bright — and has stars and stripes.” 

Rumours swirled Maura had joined the US version of the TV mystery game when she stepped aside from hosting Love Island USA’s sister show Aftersun.
