The New England Patriots head coach search lasted not too long, as it appeared they had their sights set on one person, Mike Vrabel. With making the hire official, Vrabel can now focus on building the staff out to the fullest and making the Patriots contenders again. He can start by trading for a player on the team he just came from.

A few weeks ago, Myles Garrett was asked if he could see himself truly staying with the organization. His response spoke volumes by stating, “I want the Browns to be able to put me and us in position to win. I’m not trying to rebuild. I’m trying to win right now”. Well, with Deshaun Watson’s injury setback, they don’t have a future at the quarterback position at all, and have numerous holes on the roster. The Browns are still rebuilding, and it will lead to Garrett wanting out.

That is now where the Patriots come into play. New England does have their quarterback in Drake Maye figured out after he showcased his potential with 2,276 yards and 15 touchdowns. The Patriots key factor to address on offense is more receiving talent, but they can actively look at free agency for that.

As Maye continues to develop, they need more help from their defense. Having the third-worst pressure rate in the league with 104 total and the fewest sacks with 28 doesn’t help matters. With Garrett, those issues would instantly be fixed with him bringing his career 110 sacks and 539 pressures.

While the Patriots weren’t contenders this past season, going 3-14, Vrabel will instantly help turn them around to make them contenders. Garrett will know the type of coaching style Vrabel brings as well, as Vrabel was on the Cleveland Browns’ staff this past season, creating an ideal trade for Garrett, and the Browns to secure more draft capital to rebuild.
