Madison Prewett Trout is telling her story on her terms.

This fall, the Bachelor alum, 28, will release her all-new book, Dare to Be True: Defeat the Lies That Bind You and Live Out the Truth That Frees You — and PEOPLE has the exclusive first look.

After coming in as the runner-up on season 24 of The Bachelor in 2020, Prewett Trout became a fan favorite by sticking to her values and choosing not to participate in the fantasy suite. Though it may have cost her a relationship with Peter Weber, it helped her grow closer to the woman she was meant to become.

“I know what it’s like to feel stuck — bound by lies, burdened by past mistakes and shame, and confused by the noise of the world around me. Before writing my first book, before even The Bachelor, I chased a version of truth that I believed would lead to a happier and freer me," she says. "Instead, it led me into deeper confusion. In a culture flooded with false promises and half-truths, I found myself asking: What is truth?"

“In my search for answers, I discovered a life-changing reality: we all desire freedom, yet many of us live lies," she added. "In Dare to Be True, we’ll not only explore how to break free from the lies that bind us, but also how to stay free by anchoring our lives in the truth that never changes.”

The reality star uses Dare to Be True as a way to combine “stories from my own life with real, practical solutions to help readers confront what’s holding them back and break free from what is breaking them.” 

“I wrote this book for the woman who is tired of pretending and performing, and who is exhausted trying to be someone she’s not. There’s a way out,” she says. 

Additionally, the book will help readers to “call out the lies that keep you stuck and small” and “stop spiraling in sin, shame, and isolation, and receive grace,” according to the book's official synopsis.

The Love Everybody Wants author and former Bachelor contestant married Grant Troutt in October 2022 during a romantic Texas ceremony with guests including Bachelor Nation favorites Ben Higgins, Victoria Fuller, Hannah Ann Sluss and Kelley Flanagan.

In her previous book, she opened up about her purity pledge before their wedding. Prewett Trout and her husband welcomed their first baby, a daughter named Hosanna Rose, in January 2025.

Dare to Be True comes out on Sept. 23 and is available for preorder now, wherever books are sold.
