The Bachelor fans call out Grant Ellis for gaslighting Rose after insisting he didn't say something to her when he actually did

The Bachelor fans did not hesitate taking to social media to call out Grant Ellis for gaslighting after an awkward incident.

The 31-year-old former pro basketball player got caught in a bizarre situation when Rose Sombke told Carolina Quixano something Grant had told her earlier.

He told Rose that when he was on stage dancing with Carolina, he was actually thinking about Rose, in an earlier episode.

Rose decided to tell Carolina what he said, which caused Carolina to 'spiral' to the point of confronting Grant about saying that.

The Bachelor was taken aback, insisting he didn't say that, asking Carolina who told her that, and while she didn't give up the name, he ultimately figured out it was Rose.

After confronting Rose, who was clearly mortified, fans were quick to call out Grant on social media because he actually did say that.

After Grant had his conversation with Carolina, he tracked down Rose and asked if she told Carolina, 'that I told you when I was onstage dancing with her that I was thinking about you?'

Rose was clearly stunned, stating, 'I thought that was something that I heard you say,' though Grant insisted, 'Why would I say that?'

He added that was 'disrespectful' and that 'looks bad on my character' and he's not, 'running game' on the ladies here.

Rose added, 'I think we were in a place where we were kind of spiraling, and I think we were comparing notes, and that wasn't a good moment for me when we were talking about it. And honestly, we're both, I think, in a position where we both care about you and we like you. And I could have easily made that mistake where I really thought that you said something like that and I was just wrong.'

Grant went to tell Carolina that he spoke with Rose, and Carolina said she felt better, since she was even hinting at leaving the show because of all this.

While Rose was left stunned by the exchanged, clearly terrified that the mistake would be enough to send her home, Grant ultimately gave her the final rose.

Grant said in confession, 'That was tough. But I decided to give Rose that rose tonight because we have a connection. She apologized, and at the end of the day, you know, everybody makes mistakes. So I feel like it's the best decision to move past it and move forward.'

Some X users like @bachmakers even went back and showed the clip of Grant actually telling Rose that, though he didn't mention Carolina specifically.

'I'm very interested in you. Like even today, right, you know, the whole dancing thing on stage and everything, I was thinking about you,' which made Rose smile.

Another X user - @LeakinYours - quote retweeted that video, adding, 'Not Grant gaslighting us!!! Make sure to save this for the reunion.'

@jooniexdimples7 added, 'grant keeping rose bc he knows he said that s**t man #TheBachelor.

Meredith Epps (@MereBearrr22) insisted, 'Grant 100% said something to Rose lmao,' while @stayIine said, 'they showed him the clips and he had to backtrack.'

Pearlie White (@LeakinYours) said, 'Grant giving Rose a rose confirms that he did in fact say what she said.'

@mike_h1990 added, 'Grant gave a rose to someone he gaslit after being caught in a lie.. #TheBachelor.'

@Angeljami added, 'If Rose lied why would you pick her to stay? The only reason that I can think of is because you actually said it…'

Another user, @stayIine, said, 'the only person in the wrong here is grant. rose heard right. carolina’s feelings are valid bc if i heard that it would eat me alive too. ive been giving grant the benefit of the doubt but this is not it… HE DID SAY THAT.'

@jasminearmss insisted, 'HE SAID THAT TO HER I REMEMBER IT YALL WTF #TheBachelor.'

The drama with Carolina and Rose meant that a few ladies like Alli Jo Hinkes and Chloie Costello didn't get any time with Grant, which ultimately proved costly.

Grant eliminated Alli Jo, Chloie and Bailey Brown, with another contestant, Beverly Ortega, removed for medical reasons as well.

The remaining 10 women will continue to vie for Grant Ellis' heart when The Bachelor returns Monday, February 17 at 8 PM ET on ABC.
