The wife of horse trainer Simon Schroeder, the man Teddi Mellencamp was accused of having an affair with amid her 13-year marriage to Edwin Arroyave, has filed for divorce.
Months after it was alleged that the 43-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum and Simon had been caught cheating on their respective partners, Karli Schroeder has filed documents to end her marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
According to a December 31 report from Us Weekly, Karli filed her paperwork on December 30, noting their marriage began on April 14, 2024, and that they separated on September 22, 2024.
Before their most recent marriage, the outlet revealed that Simon and Karli, who share daughter Lena, 3, and son Henry, 7 months, had a different marriage annulled in February.
In addition to seeking primary physical custody and joint legal custody of their two kids, Karli is requesting Simon be ordered to pay spousal support and her attorney fees.
In November, as Teddi confirmed plans to divorce Edwin, 47, the father of her three children, including daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, 4, and son Cruz, 10, an insider told Us Weekly that Teddi and Simon had “a thing” months prior.
“It’s not still happening,” the source insisted, adding that Edwin had also been unfaithful. “Teddi and Edwin had been working on the problems of their marriage, despite his past indiscretions. They stayed in the marriage for the sake of the kids.”
Although it was alleged that Edwin cheated on Teddi, the affair was said to have been a one-time thing, and something that happened eight years ago.
In regard to her and Simon’s reported affair, Teddi appeared to address the allegations against her on Instagram in December.
“The only person who can change your life is you. We have 2 options, pretend to be a victim or stand up and fight for yourself. We all deserve peace and happiness,” she wrote. “I have cried and mourned. I have taken accountability and apologized for things I have done wrong. Now, I have given myself permission to grow and thrive. There are 3 sides to every story. How can I stand up and show up for the people that do matter? This is called being an adult. This is what saying with my full chest means.”
