Teddi Mellencamp seems to think there’s a possibility that Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky will get back together.

During a couple of interviews this week, the 43-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star offered an update on the relationship between Kyle, 55, and Mauricio, 54, noting that Kyle is doing “amazing” as she also spoke of dad John Mellencamp‘s yearly birthday gifts to his kids and grandkids.

“[It’s] a testament to both Kyle and Mauricio on how well they get along and still communicate,” Teddi told PEOPLE on October 8. “I think that shows the love that’s there throughout their family and their life and the kind of people that they are because that’s not common. And, you know, no one knows what the future holds.”

While it’s hard to say whether Kyle and Mauricio will reconcile in the future, Teddi said she wishes them “all the best.”

“When you look at the history of other people that are going through ups and downs, I think they’re doing pretty great,” she noted.

As for her own family, she and husband Edwin Arroyave recently celebrated the birthday of daughter Slate, who turned 12 on October 6, and the birthday of John, who turned 73 on October 7.

“We were in Washington, D.C., at our national horse competition,” Teddi revealed to PEOPLE. “That was my daughter’s birthday on Oct. 6. My dad’s on Oct. 7. So he flew in to watch Slate show and compete, and it was so nice. And, yeah, so Slate is turning 12.”

While Teddi took time to honor her dad on Instagram, she couldn’t recall how old he was.

“I’m like, ‘Are you 75?’ He’s like, ‘I’m 73,’ I think. I don’t know. But yeah, he’s in his 70s,” she stated.

As for his annual present, Teddi said that John gives his kids and grandkids, including her son Cruz, 10, and daughter Dove, 4, money each year.

“My dad’s tradition is that our birthday present every year is that he pays you and the amount of dollars that you are. So, Slate was very excited that she was 12 this year, because she got $12,” Teddi shared. “I got $43 this year … I do it sometimes back to him, and it’s now that he’s getting up there. It’s pretty pricey.”

“He’s been doing it this way for so many years. I don’t think he’s changing,” she added.

Continuing on about Slate, Teddi described her oldest child as an “old soul.”

“I always say she’s like a 45-year-old trapped in a 12-year-old’s body, because the second that you talk to her, you feel like you’re talking to one of your friends,” she gushed.

Also speaking to PEOPLE, Teddi mentioned her and Tamra Judge‘s live podcast event, TwoTsCon: Two Ts In A Pod, on November 1.

“What makes our show so successful is our relationship with the people listening to it and being able to answer the questions that they really have,” Teddi explained of her and Tamra’s podcast. “Because we can. We can talk till we’re blue in the face, but ultimately we want to dig into the stuff people really want to know.”

“I think that’s the beauty of us having both being on a show at one point and also having that insight, we’re able to give people information that they wouldn’t necessarily have,” she added. “But also, we’re a little bit messy, so like, we’re willing to ask the hard questions, where I think a lot of time people are going to skate around the issue, and we don’t do that. We don’t play that way.”
