Teddi Mellencamp Opens Up: Loneliness a 'Constant Ache' Post-Split from Husband Edwin Arroyave - lulu

Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp is getting real about her split from husband Edwin Arroyave amid the affair drama - admitting that her loneliness is a 'constant ache.'

Her confession comes just months after DailyMail.com revealed that Mellencamp was having a months-long love affair with German-born horse trainer Simon Schröeder behind their spouses' backs.

The scandalous affair was reportedly the catalyst for her divorce, with a source claiming to DailyMail.com that Mellencamp decided to file once she got caught in the affair.

Since the news broke, Mellencamp has made a number of cryptic posts about her split, including at Christmas, when she shared that she was all alone and without her three kids.

Now, the star is opening up about feeling lonely, which she spoke about with Erika Jayne during a Thursday episode of their iHeart Radio podcast, Diamonds in the Rough.

The two were joined by psychotherapist Dr. Nadine Macaluso, who describes herself as a 'psychotherapist toxic relationship expert' installment of the show.

During the conversation, Mellencamp spoke about the fact that she was naturally an introvert and enjoyed her alone time, but tearfully revealed that she was feeling 'really lonely' as of late.

'I don't know if those loneliness feelings mean that I've made a mistake, or this is just something I have to get used to and this is the new change in my life,' the former Bravo TV star said through tears.

She admitted that it was a 'confusing' part of what she's going through.

However, Dr. Macaluso could relate to Mellencamp, telling her that it was normal, and that she too was lonely while going through a split.

'I don't think it means that you need to go back, I think it's something that you're going to learn to develop a deeper relationship with yourself,' the psychotherapist said.

Jayne agreed that 'none of this was easy,' as Dr. Macaluso said that sometimes loneliness can feel 'painful.'

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star agreed.

'It's a constant ache that I am trying to fake my way through, but then it's like, and I have talked about this in therapy, it's almost like I am attracted to another chaotic situation,' Mellencamp admitted during the episode.

This isn't the first time in recent months that Mellencamp has admitted that she was struggling, either.

Earlier this month, she shared on Instagram stories that she was suffering from 'raging anxiety.'

'Woke up today at 3am with raging anxiety,' Mellencamp wrote on her story at the time. 'I don't say this for pity - it's for anyone else who woke up with any of the following.'

She then began to list out common symptoms of anxiety disorders, which included 'trouble concentrating or making decisions,' 'feeling irritable, tense or restless,' 'having heart palpitations' and 'trouble sleeping.'

In the following post, Mellencamp told her followers the seven things she does to help herself when she's feeling anxious.

Some of her tips included getting fresh air and 'setting boundaries.'

Mellencamp filed for divorce from her husband of 13 years, Arroyave, citing irreconcilable differences on November 1, and listed October 20 as their date of separation.

A source alleged to DailyMail.com that the affair occurred while Schröeder's wife, Karli Postel, was pregnant with their second child.

To make matters worse, Mellencamp and her horse trainer were rumored to be together while Postel was giving birth in Florida.

The two have since filed for divorce.
