Teddi Mellencamp looks unrecognizable in brunette wig and head scarf amid cancer battle

Teddi Mellencamp showed off a new look as she was spotted in Los Angeles.

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 43, tried a new hair color and absolutely rocked a brown wig and white head scarf.

The daughter of rocker John Mellencamp, 73, wore a denim vest with a pair of wide-leg lighter blue jeans.

The new wig comes as Teddi has been battling stage 4 cancer.

Mellencamp has been battling cancer since 2022 following a diagnosis of melanoma, which metastasized to her brain and lungs.

Last week, Teddi delivered some good news on her podcast, 2 Ts in a Pod.

'Today I had the scan and where they checked my lungs and they are shrinking and one of them has shrunk so much you can barely even see it,' she said on her podcast.

Mellencamp added, 'So it's really really good news. I'm definitely so relieved. I'm also a little bit like, if I sound a little weird, it's because I'm in the middle of them in a therapy treatment right now.

'But what they said was this is good news. That means my body is responding to everything. But I do need to live on immunotherapy for the next two years.'

'So every four weeks for the next two years, I have to come in and get that done. So and then every three months I get another scan and we check to make sure that everything is where it is,' she added.

Teddi admitted she was a bit confused, adding, 'I thought that, like, once the tumors start going away, I'm like, so, does that mean I'm cancer free? And he's like no.'

'He's like you, we will let you know when you're in remission. But at this point, everything's just heading the correct way,' she added.

Her podcast co-host Tamra Judge asked her if that cured the cancer or controlled it.

'It's making sure that it's getting smaller and then let's say that it gets so small that it disappears. It's making sure that it won't form anywhere else in my body,' she said.

She added, 'The reason they were able to do this treatment on me, because remember radiation didn't work and the tumors were getting bigger, and like I was only able to get certain surgeries is because over at Cedars Clinic.

'There is everything in one spot. So because of that, they can do multiple treatments and figure out what works for you individually. So I think what ends up happening to a lot of people,' Teddi said.

The update comes just a month after she said doctors gave her a 50/50 chance to survive her cancer.

Over the weekend, Teddi put on a dazzling display of strength and style, stepping out to celebrate Kyle Richards’ daughter Alexia Umansky's wedding with her Real Housewives besties.

With a renewed sense of hope, Teddi radiated positivity as she shared a joyful group snap on Instagram Sunday.

Wrapped in a sparkling silver gown and a sleek black fur jacket, she proudly flaunted her shaved head and vibrant spirit while posing arm-in-arm with Kyle, bride-to-be Alexia Umansky, Lisa Rinna, and Dorit Kemsley.

The wedding of Kyle's daughter also comes weeks after Teddi admitted she was 'preparing her children for the worst.'

Mellencamp and her estranged husband Eddie Arroyave are parents to daughter Slate, 12, son Cruz 10, and daughter Dove, five, along with Arroyave's daughter Isabella.

'Teddi is a fighter – anyone who has watched Real Housewives can attest to that,' Radar reported at the time.

'But it just saps her fighting spirit to think she had beaten this, only to receive another horrible diagnosis. She had told her children that mommy's sick, but she is going to be okay, and now it's tearing her up to lay out the dark truth to them.'

Teddi Mellencamp and children spend Mother's Day at The Pendry

'Teddi does her very best to remain optimistic through her ordeals, but her main thought is with her family and beating this cancer for their sake.'

Last month she also revealed that her famous father John Mellencamp was planning her burial, asking whether she would be buried in the 'family mausoleum.'

On an episode of her Two Ts in a Pod podcast with Tamra Judge, Mellencamp explained her dad had called to ask her what her burial plans were.

'He goes, "Well you’re doing your will right now, so you may as well put it in there."'

In spite of the dark humor, Mellencamp said her father 'always taught me to be a fighter.'

For now, the determined patient is taking each day as it comes.

'I think the biggest thing is don't take anything for granted. Normally, I'm used to running seven miles, today, I'm barely walking one, but you know what? I'm here and that makes me feel good. These are special times that we get to do any of this.'
