The RHOBH alum says her recent wig-shopping trip gave her a renewed sense of control.
or the first time in a long time, Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave finally feels like herself.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum declared this in a recent Instagram video documenting her trip to The Wig Fairy, a Beverly Hills-based salon specializing in customized human-hair wigs.
Teddi, who is now battling Stage 4 cancer, began sporting hair pieces more than a month ago, after shaving her head in preparation for brain surgery. The mother of three confessed she wasn’t a fan of her previous wig purchases, as she found the styles uncomfortable and “itchy” — so much so that she was “hesitant” to give The Wig Fairy a shot.
Although it's unclear what ultimately convinced Teddi to visit the salon, she was admittedly surprised by their products and top-tier service.
“Let me tell you, The Wig Fairy was beyond,” she captioned the Reel. “From the start, trying on various styles, to the cut and styling to my liking, to seeing the final product which looks like it’s coming out of my actual head… I am so grateful.”

Teddi was filmed sitting in the salon chair as the company founder, Mona Zargar, cut and styled her beautiful blond wig.
“Oh my gosh. This looks so much better,” Teddi gushed in another clip. “It actually looks like it’s coming out of my head. You make me so happy, because I just quit wearing the wigs.”
“When you start looking good, you feel better automatically,” Mona replied.
“This is crazy. I really thought this was going to be a waste of time and I was going to be annoyed, but it really feels like my hair,” Teddi continued. “Love it. Oh. My. God. I cannot even thank you enough.”

Although she’s proudly displayed her shaved head over the last couple of months, Teddi said the look made her feel limited.
“I know so many of you love me showing off my bald head, and some days I feel powerful and beautiful that way; but some days I want options,” she explained. “Especially now during this time I don’t have many, options make me feel like I am in control, and can help me when I’m feeling powerless. The Wig Fairy has given me that.”
Teddi Mellencamp shares an emotional update on her hair loss
Teddi spoke candidly about her hair loss after undergoing radiation and immunotherapy treatments. She posted a close-up shot of her cropped hair with sizable bald spots around the back.
“Didn’t realize I was going to miss the buzz cut and cry when I washed my hair and a chunk of hair came out in my hand," Teddi wrote over a text message screenshot.
After sending the image, Teddi texted, “What is happening?”
The recipient reassured the Beverly Hills mom that hair loss was a normal side effect of her cancer treatments and that the locks would eventually grow back.
