We are in a social media era, and for most, it can be a happy place if used correctly. Unfortunately, not all use it for the way it was intended, and Grammy winner Taylor Swift has become a target for fellow singer Kanye West, with Kansas City Chiefs' Travis Kelce "supporting" her.
With people able to post and say anything they want about another person, West took to X (formerly Twitter) and posted a rather nasty X-rated tweet about Swift.
West posted a sexually explicit tweet regarding Swift, Harry Styles, and Justin Bieber, and it didn't take long for Taylor's side to respond.
According to a source who allegedly spoke with one outlet, stated that West is intending to hinder her career and that a cease and desist notice has been issued to West.
“This isn’t just [West] gossiping," the source said. "This is [West] sexually harassing a woman, defaming her and intending to cause harm to her and to her career.”
This is a rather ugly thing that is happening in the public space, but with social media so prevalent in today's world, we are now seeing it more and more.
Exactly what the next steps for Swift are is unknown, but Kelce is "furious'' and "supporting her," according to the outlet's source. In a world that is becoming increasingly online, people are often free to post what they want, about whom they want, often with no repercussions.
It remains to be seen what will happen, but Swift's side is clearly not taking this lightly—nor should they.
