Taylor Ann Green's Mother Claps Back at Shep Rose's Controversial Statement: The Truth Behind Rumors of the Family Wanting the Couple to Reunite - suong

Does Taylor Ann Green’s family approve of her relationship? We're finally hearing straight from the source on that subject.

The topic was addressed in the January 23 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, when Taylor was asked about Shep Rose’s previous claim regarding her family and romantic life. The comment was featured in Southern Charm Season 10, Episode 2 when Shep shared his thoughts on Taylor’s current boyfriend, Gaston Rojas, and suggested her parents didn’t fully approve of the romance.

“[Gaston] kind of looks like a villain from the Bourne Identity. I can see him screwing on a silencer and like, breaking into a room,” Shep said. “I know that her mom and dad wish she was still with me … And her grandfather and grandmother and her whole family.”

When pressed about Shep’s claim on WWHL, Taylor directed the question to her mother, Leslie, who was sitting in the Clubhouse audience.

“Leslie can answer that one,” Taylor said after revealing Gaston had already met her family.

Host Andy Cohen pointed out that Leslie wasn’t mic’d but asked her to respond with a thumbs up or thumbs down. Leslie did the former and shared her brief thoughts on Taylor’s love-life choices. 

“We all want our kids to be happy and thriving,” she said. "That’s our prayer for Taylor. And she’s OK.”

Although Taylor didn’t directly respond to Shep’s comment during her WWHL appearance, she did fire back in a series of Instagrams. 

“Yeah. I’m gonna pop off here a second, publicly,” she wrote in a Story after hearing Shep's remarks in an episode preview. “Let me shout from the mountain tops that both my parents, my grandparents, and yes, even my recently late grandfather all couldn’t be happier that I’ve moved on and am in a much better, happier, and healthier relationship.

“So this comment. SENDS ME,” she continued before alluding to her and Shep’s dramatic breakup. “What planet do you live on, bro? You cheated on me 4 times (that I know of), and you think my family wishes I was still with you? DELUSIONAL.”

Shep attempted to clarify his remarks during his December 19 appearance on WWHL, saying he no longer held that view.

“I do not think that currently,” he said. “I’m still in contact with [Taylor’s] mom… They’re wonderful people, but, of course not. The ship has sailed, but maybe I shouldn’t have said that but old feelings die hard, you know what I mean?”
