Surprising Parallel: Andy Cohen Compares Jon Hamm to A-List Star Following a Packed Year - lulu

Andy Cohen dubbed Jon Hamm the 'male Nicole Kidman' during CNN's New Year's Eve broadcast on Tuesday night.

Telecast co-hosts Cohen, 56, and Anderson Cooper, 57, were joined virtually by the 53-year-old Fargo star — who weighed in on Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover's breakup during the appearance.

Andy compared him to the 57-year-old Australian actress, whose acting roles seemed ubiquitous last year, due to Jon also having a heap of gigs throughout 2024.

'Do you feel as an actor you should share a little bit more?' the media personality asked Jon playfully.

'Listen, I’m achieving peak Kidman, I think you called it,' Jon agreed in response. 'I love it. It’s all I can do. I love working. I get to work on great stuff and yeah, why not me? I vote yes, more me.'

Cohen added, 'Why not? I agree. I want more Jon Hamm.'

In the past year the Man Men sensation has reprised his role as Don Draper in Jerry Seinfeld's Netflix film Unfrosted, appeared in Transformers One, and played a part in the musical movie Mean Girls.

Fans will next see him star in the period drama William Tell, which will play at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on January 3 and be released in the United Kingdom on January 10.

Meanwhile, Nicole has kept audiences' attention over the last 12 months with projects including the Netflix series The Perfect Couple, the streamer's rom-com A Family Affair, the animated adventure film Spellbound, Amazon Prime's Expats, and Paramount+'s Lioness.

On Sunday she will appear at the Golden Globes, where she has been nominated in the Actress in a Drama Motion Picture category for her acclaimed role in Babygirl.

During NYE telecast Andy pointed out that 10 years have passed  since Jon's iconic show Mad Men ended.

'Well, obviously, it’s the greatest thing I’ve ever done in my career,' Jon acknowledged.

'I guess what I really am impressed with is that now new generations are kind of discovering the show,' he noted.

The longtime entertainer shared, '30-year-olds go up to me and are like, "Oh my God, I love that show." I'm like, "You were 10 when it came out. What are you talking about?" But, it’s impressive and it’s obviously, it’s something I’m tremendously proud of.'

Via Instagram on Wednesday, Andy shared what he and his close friend Anderson got up to once they wrapped their annual New Year's Eve special.

He shared that he was headed to a late-night party following the completion of their hosting duties.

Then, in a selfie timestamped at 2:58am, he smiled while holding a plate of tater tots and sitting next to Cooper. Corner Bistro was tagged as their location.

And early on Wednesday he shared a single snapshot from Times Square, where he spent the previous night entertaining viewers.

He captioned the post to his 5.5 million followers, 'WOW! The privilege & fun of ringing in the New Year with one of my closest pals - and all of you -is not lost on me.

'Last night was one for the books! What was your favorite part of the show?'
