“Summer House” star Lindsay Hubbard opened up about healing following her breakup with her ex-fiance, Carl Radke.
During a December 2024 interview on “Bravo’s Hot Mic” podcast, Hubbard said she did not expect Radke to end their relationship two months before they intended to wed in November 2023. She described the experience as feeling as if “your whole world has got ripped from underneath.”
Hubbard also said she was “taking it hour by hour” the first week after the breakup.
“It was slowly taking it day by day. And then it was like slowly taking it week by week. And two months was really just trying to get back on my feet,” said Hubbard.
She then said she was “surrounding [herself] with friends, family, and girlfriends” during the first two months following her breakup.
“Like literally getting the strength from all of my friends around me. And then a couple months later I just started traveling,” said Hubbard.
Hubbard, who welcomed her first child Gemma in December 2024, said she felt ready to date again in November 2023. She said that she eventually began seeing her current boyfriend, Dr. Turner Kufe, the father of Gemma, in January 2024.
Hubbard made similar comments about trying to move past her breakup from Radke in a November 2023 interview on Nick Viall’s podcast, “The Viall Files.” She said the situation was even more upsetting because the press found out about her split almost immediately after it occurred. According to Hubbard, she was unable to leave her apartment without being surrounded by paparazzi.
“In the beginning it was like I was operating hour by hour. And when I tell you the entire world found out within 30 minutes of me — it was chaotic and hectic. And all of the sudden I had to go into hiding.” said Hubbard.
She also said that she leaned on her friends for support.
“All of my girlfriends were just coming over,” said Hubbard during the interview.
Hubbard also said she believed Radke’s decision to ask her to postpone the date of their wedding while cameras were rolling “was the ultimate blindsiding of the year.”
During a March 2024 interview on “Watch What Happens Live,” Radke addressed Hubbard’s claims that she was blindsided by him.
“In the reality I was living in, we had some serious things that needed to be addressed. And she didn’t believe that. So, it’s a tough situation all around,” said Radke.
In addition, he said he did not regret initiating their split on camera.
“I don’t regret anything that went down. I actually think it was the best decision for the both of us to not move forward with the wedding,” said Radke.
