Strictly Come Dancing star Nadiya Bychkova has broken her silence on her condition after suffering a horror fall.  

The Ukrainian dancer, 35, was reportedly taken to hospital on Tuesday after falling and landing on her back during rehearsals.

The star was training in north London when she was left in agony after injuring her back, with crew forced to phone an ambulance.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Nadiya shared a picture from her hospital as she updated fans on her injury - and revealed if she would be able to dance again soon. 

She wrote: 'Well… where do I start? What a 24 hours! Thank you so much for all the messages, love and support. I just wanted you to know that I am ok.

'I had a fall in training yesterday and landed on my back. I was really worried for a while and I was so thankful to the Strictly family and medical team who really looked after me.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Nadiya shared a picture from her hospital as she updated fans on her injury - and revealed if she would be able to dance again soon

 

'The staff at the hospital were so kind and caring.'

Nadiya continued: 'I'm smiling in the picture but it was really scary and there were a few tears as I had to lie still for hours but I was given the all-clear after an x-ray and allowed to go home.

'I've got some physio today but I will be back on that dance floor soon and I'll be ready to shine and sparkle in the new series of the biggest show on TV.

'I can't wait for you to see it. Keep dancing!'

An insider told the Mirror of her injury: 'It looked pretty nasty and no-one was taking any chances. The Strictly crew rushed into action and she was stretchered out.

'As a precaution, following a fall during rehearsals, Nadiya was taken to hospital for checks and is receiving full support from medical and welfare teams. 

'Rehearsals continue and the Strictly team are in close contact with Nadiya. Nadiya left hospital later that afternoon.'

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson told the publication: 'We were called at 12:37pm on Tuesday 12 August to reports of an incident at Regent's Park Road, NW1.

'We sent an ambulance crew to the scene and treated one person before taking them to hospital.' 

Daily Mail contacted Nadiya's representatives and Strictly Come Dancing for comment at the time. 

It comes after trailblazing model and influencer Ellie Goldstein, Drag Race star La Voix and rugby player Chris Robshaw were confirmed as the seventh, eighth and ninth contestants for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing. 

The three celebrities confirmed their participation in an announcement shared on Wednesday's edition of The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2.

Ellie is a model, actress and influencer who became the first model with Down syndrome to grace the cover of British Vogue.

Additionally she has featured in campaigns for Gucci, Adidas and Victoria's Secret, while maintaining an ambassadorship for the learning disability charity Mencap.  

She said: 'I’m absolutely over the moon to be joining the cast and pros of Strictly Come Dancing this year. 

'It’s a show I’ve loved watching for so long, and the chance to now be part of it feels like a dream. I know it’s going to be challenging, but I’m ready to do it with the glitter and glamour and make some magic on that dancefloor. Let the Strictly journey begin!'

Joining Ellie on the Strictly line-up, La Voix said in a statement: 'I've performed for royalty, RuPaul and Simon Cowell, but nothing fills me with more excitement (and quite a bit of terror) than the thought of dancing in front of millions on live Saturday night TV.

'Strictly is a national institution and I can't wait to get started. All that's left to say is: good luck to my partner! Here's hoping they can help me go from La Voix into La Danse.' 

Chris admitted he was stepping well out of his "comfort zone" by signing up for the show.

He commented: 'This is about as far out of my comfort zone as it gets! I’m hoping to take my dad dancing to a whole new level, and my mum can’t wait to drag me along to her Zumba class.

'Let’s see if a rugby sidestep works in the Cha Cha Cha.'
