STRICTLY Come Dancing stars Karen Hauer and Gorka Marquez Were forced to cancel their live show, leaving fans gutted.
The Strictly pros - who have been on the road with their tour - announced the decision just moments before they were due on stage.
Karen and Gorka revealed they had to pull the plug on their live show due to safety concerns leaving fans ‘disappointed’.
The popular Strictly stars took to social media to tell fans that they were “upset” and “disappointed” about the last minute cancellation.
The pair released a joint statement just minutes before their Speakeasy live show was due to start at Cheltenham’s Town Hall last night.
In a heartfelt post, the pro dancers wrote: “We are so upset to have the curtain pulled down on tonight’s show.
"We have been in the venue all afternoon with technical difficulties which have posed real safety concerns and have tried everything we can to be able to go on stage tonight.”
They continued: “Of course the safety of our company comes first and this decision is beyond our control.
"We hope to see you very soon. The venue will be in touch with ticket holders.”
The pair then signed off with: “We are as disappointed as you are. K & G.”
Many disappointed fans took to social media to express their disappointment at the show being cancelled so close to stage time.
One fan fumed: “GUTTED. Got to the theatre to see Speakeasy and it’s been cancelled last minute!!! My birthday ruined.”
While another replied: “Us too got the email when we were at the pizza restaurant.”
And a third said: “This is such a shame.”
It's understood Karen and Gorka's tour is now back in action, and they are due to perform at Ipswich’s Regent theatre tonight.
STRICTLY'S BAFTA SNUB
Meanwhile, it's not been a great week for Strictly and its stars.
It was revealed yesterday that the BBC show failed to receive an expert BAFTA TV nomination for the first time in the show's history.
The long-running programme debuted in 2004 and has been nominated each year since 2005.
However, in the latest batch of nods, Strictly is up for the Memorable Moment Award, which is decided by public vote, rather than the official judges.
Fans have previously seen Strictly take home BAFTA TV gongs in 2016, 2017, 2020 and 2024.
