Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell has issued a two-word message to her celebrity partner Chris McCausland.
The pair were crowned the winners of Strictly's 2024 final following a glittering grand final last Saturday night (December 14). They beat fellow finalists Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and dancer Aljaz Skorjanec and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley for the glitterball trophy.
Comedian Chris, the first ever blind contestant on Strictly, cried and hugged professional dancer Dianne when they were announced as the winners. Now, Chris has revealed one of the ways in which Strictly has changed his thinking, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Speaking on the BBC's Access All podcast with host Emma Tracey, he said: "It's changed the way I think about posture because I never thought about posture.
"Posture was just something that was an unconscious part of the way I carried myself and it was just something that was subconsciously learned over many years of learning forward to see computers when I was losing my eyesight and see the TV and walking down streets worried that you're going to get a branch in the head and things like that."
The 47-year-old went on to share: "It's just something that was there and wasn't very good but I never thought of. Now I'm aware of it and I'm aware of how carrying yourself differently, if it can make that difference to a dance, if it can make that amount of difference to a form of entertainment and make you feel about the dance you're doing, it can make you feel better about yourself as well and it can make you feel more confident.
"Not just in your mobility but everything you do throughout the day really. So I'm aware of it now." When Emma asked if he'll keep his good posture now Strictly is over, Chris replied: "I'm gonna try my best." As a clip of Chris' interview was shared on social media, Dianne was quick to respond by saying: "So proud," alongside a red heart emoji.
