Stassi Schroeder is ready to exit her Hollywood Hills home if necessary.
On January 9, the former “Vanderpump Rules” star posted a message to her Instagram story as the devastating California wildfires were in view from her home.
Schroeder captioned a photo taken from her balcony with the sight of heavy smoke in the distance. She shared a positive update that her family was safe, but still watching and waiting.
Stassi Schroeder Tried to Make Things as Normal as Possible For Her Kids
Schroeder and her husband, Beau Clark, share kids Hartford, 4, and Messer, 1. In her message, the former Bravo star wrote that she tried to hide her fear from her young children.
“I hesitate to write this because it’s still not over and I don’t even have the right words to articulate everything,” she wrote. “Firstly, my family is currently still safe and at home. Secondly, my heart is absolutely broken for everyone affected in all the fires. The amount of loss is unimaginable.”
“Last night was by far the most terrifying night of my life, trying to give my kids a bath and put them to bed and pretend like everything is OK with the view of the Sunset fire outside every window of my house,” she continued. “I will never forget the insane fear and trying to swallow my tears in front of them but that’s nothing compared to what so many people have now had to go through. So many people have lost everything.”
Schroeder concluded her message by assuring fans that her family is “packed and ready.” “My kids baby books and memory boxes are packed, our necessities packed, my grandmother’s keepsakes packed. Just watching and waiting. Our beloved city, I truly I can’t believe it,” she wrote.
Stassi Schroeder’s Husband Also Posted a Photo of the Fire
On his Instagram story, Schroeder’s husband posted a photo of his view of the blaze on January 8. “WTF is going on?” Clark captioned a photo of flames and billowing smoke. “This one is too close to us.”
According to CBS News, the Sunset Fire started as a brush fire in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills, where Schroeder and Clark have lived in a $1.7 million home since 2020. Firefighters aggressively attacked the fire.
Forbes reported that as of 11:37 am PT, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass stated the Sunset fire in the Hollywood Hills area was “fully contained” after spreading across 43 acres. “Firefighters are still working in some damaged areas,” Mayor Bass wrote on X.
