Stassi Schroeder threw a belated party to celebrate her daughter Hartford’s 4th birthday—but her theme had a last-minute change.

On January 27, the former “Vanderpump Rules” star shared photos from her daughter’s birthday bash. The party took place nearly three weeks after the little girl’s big day, which was January 7.

Schroeder and her husband Beau Clark welcomed Hartford Charlie Rose Clark on January 7, 2021. Their son, Messer Rhys, was born in September 2023.

Stassi Schroeder Combined 2 Themes for Hartford’s Party

Hartford has long been known for her love of the movie “Frozen,” but in 2024 she became obsessed with the musical “Wicked.”  In a lengthy slideshow posted to Instagram on January 7, Schroeder announced  that her daughter had turned four and was all about “Wicked.”

In an Instagram story, she revealed that Hartford wanted to make “Elphaba cookies to bring to school.” The birthday gifts on the table were wrapped in metallic pink paper and adorned with bright green ribbon. It’s no wonder that Hartford’s birthday party weeks later featured a “Wicked” theme.

In photos shared to Schroeder’s Instagram story on January 26,  the family of four posed in front of green cutouts and matching balloons in shades of green. Other photos showed a ball pit, and two long tables set for Hartford’s birthday party guests. “She got her Wicked party,” Schroeder captioned the slideshow.

Another photo showed the characters Elsa and Anna from “Frozen” reading a story while sitting in front of the “Wicked’ cut-outs. “Wicked but also Frozen because does it really matter,” Schroeder wrote.

Schroeder also thanked her party planners for being so helpful. She captioned a photo of a setup that announced ”Hartford’s Wicked Party” and “Welcome to Emerald City” with, “A hardcore thank you to @lavishlittlesevents for allowing me to go rogue and switch the theme to Wicked even though months of planning went into a Frozen birthday party.”

Stassi Schroeder Explained Why She Changed the Party Date & Theme

In a TikTok video posted on January 7, Schroeder revealed that Hartford has specifically requested a “Frozen” birthday party. “She’s still on the Elsa train. So that’s what I’ve been planning for months.”

Schroeder shared that everything was planned based on that theme and invitations were sent out. “Then ‘Wicked ‘came out and all she wants is ‘Wicked’ stuff,” Schroeder added of the Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande movie that was released in theaters on November 22. “’Wicked’ birthday party, ‘Wicked’ presents, that’s all she wants. Too late to change a birthday party.”

She said her daughter asked if she could attend her birthday party dressed as the “Wicked” character Elphaba with her face painted green.

“I told her Elsa might be offended,” Schroeder admitted. She added that she told Hartford she could do what she wanted for her party attire.

The former Bravo star noted she could still do “Wicked-themed birthday gifts. But she added, “I spent so much time working on this ‘Frozen’ birthday party and now it doesn’t even matter.”

But in another TikTok posted in late January, Schroeder revealed that the birthday party had to be postponed due to the wildfires in Los Angeles.  With extra time to plan, she was able to work with the party planner to adjust the theme. “We had to postpone Hartford’s birthday party. It was supposed to be when the fires were happening, so we postponed it for this weekend,” she told fans on January 25.

“Part of what gave me a little hope and joy was like, oh we can make it ‘Wicked’ now. It doesn’t have to be ‘Frozen’ because she’s so obsessed with ‘Wicked,” Schroeder added. “And we were able to return so many of the ‘Frozen’ themed things and replace them with ‘Wicked.’ I was like, cool we can even have Else and Anna there. Who the [expletive] cares? Elsa, Anna, ‘Wicked’ mashup. Who gives a [expletive]. Let’s just make it fun.”

After debating on what she would wear to the bash—per Hartford, she’s not allowed to dress like Elphaba and must only be Glinda— Schroeder added a very un-Stassi-like comment. “It’s just a birthday party,” she said.
